As usual people whining because they don't hear about anything during the tampering period. Which you rarely do hear about it, only time you do is when it's a player that is already free to sign.

Last year there was nothing and then day of FA Pats with no hint at all signed Gilmore.

Also if this Suh thing is at all true you wouldn't hear anything because he's a contracted player that hasn't been released yet. Much like Revis was, yes they were talking before he was offically released but the "Pats are signing Revis" reports didn't come until he was officially a FA.

This entire silence about Suh and nobody else really running with this is what makes this slowly interesting. If this was just another agent throwing the Pats in there to push negotiations up youd think they make sure that the news get a bit more movement. But it being so low key and just randomly mentioned by the same Miami guy who also heard about Dola is pretty intriguing.

shut the f**k up

Such hostility. And let’s be honest, besides Gilmore this is the norm to sit back and wait for the market to drop.

I'm skeptical since Suh just doesn't seem to be a guy the Pats would go after. Potentially commanding a big salary, talented but taking plays off, questionable character. And on top of that he's already 31.

wow Im surprised no news on Butler....kinda weird.

Thank you. Somebody gets it...

Haven't seen anyone mention him here. Only 25 and with Chung and DMC getting older might be time to look for a replacement.

Supposedly his last injury really cost him in his agility.. Maybe it's just taking longer to heal, but I wouldn't sign him w/o medical clearance..

Just the other day, the Ravens re-signed James Hurst (RT, LT, LG, TE with 32 starts over the past four seasons) to 4 years/$17.5M/$8M guaranteed. So that's probably Fleming's floor, now.

I don't think that Fleming is as good a player as Hurst.. That being said, probably in the 3.5-3.875 M APY is likely for Fleming..

Maybe this is better in the Suh thread, but I've already commented on him in this thread and I still find the whole thing really fascinating. So Matt Chatham spent all training camp showing this as the Pats preferred defensive alignment:

They wound up substituting Marsh for McClellin by the end. Ultimately as the season went on they wound up not playing this defense much - presumably because Branch failed (and Valentine wasn't there to back him up), and Harris failed (and they wound up moving Hightower in the middle again briefly until he himself got hurt), and Marsh failed when Hightower was gone.

I'm wondering if they've given up on this defense in general, or if they're just trying to find the right possible players for it? Shelton fits here, but he fits other schemes too. In this defense, I would expect Suh would take one of the two "DE" slots. But Brown and Trey Flowers aren't exactly weaknesses there; the backup OLB and the starting MLB spots are. Maybe they're just done with this defense altogether? Maybe they're being opportunistic and buying low on a talent they think will fit *one* of their schemes and that scheme will be decided based on who they can get?

Just very curious to me.

Again shows that there is on the one hand the opinion of fans and then on the other the opinion of coaches and GMs.

Wilson played for Matt Patricia and clearly Patricia liked what Wilson has done since Wilson left the Pats..
