When I took a trip over to the Seahawks forum a few days back, I want to say there was a dispute in pay cut. So, if that's true - would the Patriots be able to afford him?

I'd love Sherman and Gilmore. That's a terrifying duo for a secondary. If we can generate just a little more QB pressure, that'd be quite a defense.

Ignoring that none of this was ever confirmed and that the Browns roster might be more talented than the 49ers. Not sure he would have been as buried there as you think.

Vow! That was a pretty quick fall for the mighty one. Both Talib and Sherman were carrying salaries of around 11 mill which is not much above what our old friend, Logan Ryan, is making. For them to become expendable at these salaries shows the cut throat nature of NFL.

I hope he doesn't go to SF... While JG did well, he also did throw an interception in every game except one. I think people might be overrating his success. It's a small sample size.

This is me convincing myself, possibly fabricating, reasons for Sherman to not sign there haha.

If nobody is offering anything, then I think he holds out even longer....I can't see Sherman playing at "a discount"....just not his style...

The 49ers are not close to winning a title next year.

I don’t see why he’d sign there to be a borderline playoff team in what looks to be the toughest division in the league unless he’s strictly looking for the biggest contact, which is certainly possible.

Media throws out a few names...fans on every team get really excited, imagining Sherman, Bennett, etc...

Almost all the FAs mention the Pats because it makes the fan bases of every other team froth and cry. It's just marketing.

Sherman wants a big contract. If someone gets a discount, Seattle matches it and he stays put, I expect.

Chances of him coming here? 5%. BB might open the purse a bit, but teams like SF could overwhelm any number the Pats threw out. The Chargers are trying to build excitement in a new town, too.
