Brown is older than the others and never had a stellar season. I think Rolando Mclain is he's ceiling. I like McDonald a lot, he's numbers a very good also. And if they can restructure Bennett i don't want another TE here. I think they will retain 80% of our FA's. Butler is gone i would take a look at Amerson. I don't watch Oakland a lot but he was incredible in 2015.

If they do lock: Solder, Lewis, Dola, Fleming or Waddle, a good vet CB#2, a good LB like Brown or a ED and our ST guys like King, Ebner and Bolden. It's a pretty strong offseason. They have the money to do so. So they could use our early picks on DE, double dip ILB, SS(just to cut Richards), RB.

I think we need another CB who can cover bigger receivers. Someone like Richard Sherman, if we can swing a deal with Seattle. He is reportedly unhappy there.

Not possible to trade for Sherman under his current contract. His 2018 salary would suck up nearly all current cap space and the Pats would then need to find another $15M just to have a chance at re-signing Solder and Lewis alone, much less anyone else.

So many people want to make a play for Sherman who is coming off a achilles injury. I dont get it... that injury has a good chance to be a killer for older DBs..

If Sherman gets cut, it becomes well worth a discussion of his asking price and a check on his physical progress. If it's a situation where you're giving something up in trade, and taking on his contract, I'll pass.

If he gets cut and agrees to a contract where at substantial portion is bound to him being healthy (i.e. roster bonus, gameday activity) then this changes the situation. Give him the Hightower special in terms of a contract.

I totally get and agree with your general point.To be fair at least this year High should have almost what ? 9-10 months to get healthy ? This might be his first healthy offseason in a long time. This could make a huge difference in terms of his injuries.

Either way we definitely need more talented bodies and a backup plan for him being injured.

Why are there so many articles from the past few months talking about how Brown struggles in coverage?

The other thing we have to think about is potential draft options.. LB depth in draft is deep, so is Dline

We need 2 lbs, one inside as a potential Roberts replacement and and an olb because we never really got a nink replacement.
