I'm over it

I am now patiently awaiting FA season. I’m eager to see what happens.

I was over it Monday morning. It sucked Sunday night but there has been too much success lately to really get upset over this one. Especially when they just got outplayed - pure and simple.

I thought about starting a thread on this on Monday but thought I would get so many dislikes it would break down the site. ;)

The fact is: we just won two superbowls in three years, and to say that either could have gone the other way is an understatement.

I am a gigantic fan of Brady, and one of the reasons the Giant losses hurt so much was that I wanted the victories for Brady. However, with the last two wins Brady has already cemented his status as the GOAT. I admit that I would have been crushed if he had played badly against the Eagles, but in fact he was more spectacular than ever.

And, this game just didn't feel that close. Philadelphia dominated the Pats in a way that I can't remember happening for ANY of the other Patriot superbowls.

This one just wasn't meant to be. I'm moving on to next year. Go Pats! :)

I prefer to teach my kids that the only was losing is acceptable is if you give 110%...The Patriots defensive players and coaches clearly did not give their best effort
They didn't get their best result. How do you know about their best effort?

5 Super Bowl wins have made it much easier to accept losses. It was a heartbreaking loss, but not a soul crushing loss like in SB 42. I'm not completely over it as I still think about what we could have done differently. But I am ready to move on and prepare for next season.

Lots to be excited for next season including Edelman and Hightower returning. Hopefully the draft can improve our D and we will be good to go. We're on to #6!!

I have been making my 8 year old nephew into a consummate Pats fan and he was all upset on Monday (he saw most of the game but it was a school night and my bro and sis in law are both professors). I called him and basically had to be mature and conciliatory because he picks up on everything. Told him we have won historic SBs and lost historic SBs. The NFL essentially goes through Foxborough. Tip your hat to the fans of other teams and tell em, “see you next year, but most likely WE won’t.”

YOU BASTARD!!!!

I'll eventually get over it. Call me greedy and petty but if the Steelers had five I wouldn't be nearly as upset over the decisions that led to the loss as well as the loss itself. Wanted to tie those smug hypocrites.

What he hell do Patriots fans have to complain about? Yes, I wanted them to win last Sunday and was disappointed that they lost.

But I go back to the Plunkett to Vataha days and asked for just 1 SB win in my lifetime. I could not imagine, even in my wettest of wet dreams, the great run we have been on. And are still on, by the way.

I don't live in the an area that has any Eagles fans. Even though I accepted the loss right after it happened doesn't mean that I would make nice to those turds. I never made nice to Giants fans even though one of them is my own brother.

Just remember they needed two "regimes" to do it. That eases the sting for me.

Well, not completely but today's the eagles parade and I'm working from home to avoid the mess in the city. I decided to go for breakfast at a local cafe and decided to wear my Pats Superbowl XLIX sweatshirt. Of course everyone else had their eagles gear on and were staring at me so it was slightly uncomfortable but no one gave me any problems.

I made some realizations this morning. It is a chance for me to accept this with some class. Regardless of how we lost the game, I can react in the best way possible. I can show the eagles (and other) kids how to accept loss with grace, that this is after all, just a game. There's so much hate in the world already. Is this what we want to teach our kids? Is our sense of happiness really contingent upon others?

So I'm going to continue ro proudly wear my Pats gear and keep congratulating the eagles fans on their happiness because my own happiness is not coming from somebody else's sadness. We're on to 2018.

Good on you. It's really pointless to retort 5 rings to any Philly fan because they're the champs now, as much as I hate to say it.

**** that. Now all I hear is how Montana is the GOAT since Brady has 3 losses. **** this ****

I am trying to move over here but it's really hard. On a good note, in years past I have had to avoid the boards for weeks after a big loss, so I guess that is an improvement.

I'm over it because I can acknowledge that the Eagles earned it and our coach fumbled the game away. Hard to be too upset when we deserved to lose.

It helps that it’s the Eagles. They seem like a likeable team especially with Blount and Long and with their coach. Foles seems like a good guy too. More likeable than the Giants were IMO.

And they were the best team this year.

never over it, but the "if only's " stopped on Tuesday, IMO it was one of the easier losses to get over , even "if only" Tom wasn't stripped sacked they would have probably driven the field and won, lol !!!
