I was referring to that vague weird article he posted back in summer:
Making sense of how Malcolm Butler and Patriots are on verge of a split
The one he later apologized for.
you would knowThat's crazy.
If butler doesnt make that pick vs seattle or they run the ball and score, BB's lack of timeout instinct would get debated till this day. Its okay because he took a chance there. When you lose you are bound to be critical of things which couldve helped. So questioning the butler situation is just logical. I dont know why its wrong to ask this when there is no plausible reason . Doesnt diminish belichick's greatness. Its sports.I'm of the opinion that BB is the GOAT coach. It also doesn't mean he is perfect, far from it.
Just like Gregg Popovich tried justifying Tim Duncan's benching at the end of game 6 of the 2013 Finals and I understand why, but even in real time before the Benedict Allen shot I disagreed with his reasoning and was proven right. It doesn't mean Pop isn't one of the greatest NBA coaches of all time.
If even for tactical reasons, unless BB felt Butler couldn't possibly produce better than any of Rowe/Bademosi/Richards, it is ridiculous to say his decision to bench Butler for the ENTIRE game isn't at the very least questionable. It hurt the team tactically, and potentially the morale to a certain degree even if very little.
Sorry sir, but its time for YOU to start defending the choice that MAY have cost the time the title.
Update: Tom Brady has commented on Butler’s Instagram post: “Love you Malcolm! You are and incredible teammate and player and friend. Always!”

We have the Head coach saying it wasn't disciplinary. Why are you so pressed to believe a bunch of beat guys reporting rumors and not believe your own coaches words?
I’m just looking at one thread with 100+ pages and another with 40+ both discussing the same damn thing, wondering why... we can all fight in one place, don’t let our board chaos spill out all over the city like Philadelphia!
Why not deactivate him and send him home. If you are activating him just in case gilmore or one the DB's gets injured then your disciplinary measure is a moving scale. No ?LOL
So, you don't bench a guy who is yapping at coaches during SB week, missed meetings, curfews, etc?
When DO you bench a guy from starting? When he bangs Linda Holiday?
I don't believe Malcolm and his "not disciplinary" post. Nor do I believe BB when he said it's not disciplinary. I do think that when Bill said it's a long story, there's probably many layers. I can't wrap my head around Butler being good enough for 98% of the snaps throughout the season and then, suddenly, he's not good enough to even sniff the field, in a game where they are getting lit up like a Christmas tree. It's mind blowing.
I think I am gonna sit this out until we get the real deal.
NvmWe have multiple beat guys independently confirming that there was a curfew issue and that he had a visitor in a restricted area.
We have multiple beat guys saying he was often frustrating to coach and required extra work so he would participate in the Patriots program the way BB & co wanted.
We even have that vague Reiss article from camp that was so head scratching back then but starts to mesh with things other writers are putting out now.
Those are all things he essentially denies in this post. I will go with the beat guys who got to know him over those 3-4 years and not the scorned CB who is heading on a wave of controversy into free agency.
Which choice?
You should be stunned because he didn’t. He liked the post of a teammate thanking the fans and saying goodbye.Oh, I totally agree that Bill made an idiotic and almost unforgivable decision that cost Tom another Super Bowl, I'm just stunned Tom is publicly confirming everything.
Which choice?
It won’t at all. Pete caroll’s decision to throw the ball in the super bowl tore his team apart. It may not be that bad with NE but it certainly won’t blow over. The players feel that Butler was SCREWED.
