Malcolm Butler Mega Thread

Exactly. So, it can be coherently argued that B.B. knows when the music beat requires a change. This decision is a simple one and he deserves the latitude to make that decision.

The fact that he is not really being informative on it should be no shock as he’s never been much on being informative

Yeah, idk what people expect. Belichick isn't going to trash Butler publicly at this point. What's done is done and nobody benefits from him airing out dirty laundry just to appease fans. Let Butler go and make his name elsewhere. BB is taking the high road on this one, but the locker room will know.

So, you approve of Malcom Butler, Adalius Tjhomas, Randy Moss and Welker behaviors?

I bet you also supported Logan Mankins and his greed, calling Kraft a liar and then proceeding to play like crap in every postseason thereafter, until BB finally dumped his overrated behind out of here.

Hint: Malcolm Butler handled himself terribly, not BB.

Make him inactive! Don't dress him! He said it wasn't discipline as well. What is it then?! BB looks like an arrogant prick the way he handled it. Some players where surprised at the last minute. That throws a team off.

Last time i remembered he gave his team the lead in 42 and his defense couldn't get a big stop. He also made a throw to edelman who dropped it. Brady carried that team in 2011 with a crappy defense.

LOL

What was brady doing for the other 55 minutes of the game? Just curious. Wehy do need "big stops" agt the end of games or else?

Listen to yourself. The greaatest offense ever with Brady basking in the limelight, goes our and craps himself on the biggest stage. The whole offense did.

SB 46, may have been worse! Couldn't even get a FG to milk clock for the entire 2nd half???!!

Really?

14-17 points ain't winning SBs in this era. Proven fact. Yes, the Giants did, but that is an outlier example.

Why is it so hard for you and others to believe that BUTLER was dogging it in practices? Why is it that people like yourself are willing to give him a pass and put all the blame on BB??

Then tell him after the last practice on Thursday that he isn’t playing. Don’t wait until kickoff and screw with everyone’s assignment. How can anyone “do your job” under these circumstances?

Well whatever he did wasn't terrible because he dressed him. Make him inactive. The truth will eventually come out but unless it was a felony you play your second best corner. It's the super bowl! He's gone after the season anyway. He handled it terrible at the last moment.

BB lied to try to protect Butler's FA status. It was discipline, his attitude and lack of confidence in him based on practice, not following rules.

If Jon Jones was not on IR, Butler would have been Inactive.

But, people like you would be the first to ask BB to be fired, if he made Butler Inactive and played a PS guy instead, if we had lost.

You Brady Lovers and anti-BBites are complete frauds.

The discipline/principle thing seems plainly to be a poor move, if that's what actually went down. As you say, if you're so principled that you're holding him out, you should be principled enough to make him inactive. If your principles end when a player gets hurt, then we're just talking about where an obviously movable line is, and that seems like an asinine place to draw it.

Exactly - and after humiliating a guy, then expecting him to rock-and-roll on the field...no. Just no.

The benching might have been justified, sure. It was handled terribly - and I'm the homer (no, I REALLY am), remember!

But I'm pissed about this. And yeah, I'll get over it. And yeah, the Eagles probably stilll win the game, and they DESERVED it.

The Eagles pass D was not that good as I stated before the game. I also predicted, Barnett and Long's wide swining, one dimensional pass rush would not work and Cox would be rendered useless.

Yes, Brady was awesome in the second half again. Not so much the first half with 3 dropped INTs, and some red zone struggles.

Gronk didn't look good in the 1st, Cooks got injured and we had a missed FG, extra point and a dumb play call on 3rd and 5. Brady was incredible on Sunday

Against a fierce pass rush. Did you forget that the giants had a good pass rush in 2007

Oh bull! Unless it was a felony you play the guy. He's gone after the season. Instead he played his man crush Jordan Richards .

Who said about fired? Lol. The guy's a great coach but Sunday night wasn't one of his finest moments. The eagles coaching staff ran circles over his staff.

How is a guy not starting "humiliating" him? Plenty of players who think they are starting, may not due to game plan specifics.

How childish.

Almost as childish as big ego Butler not starting and making a scene over it.

WOW

You anti-BBites are comical.

Malcom Butler the guy who won us SB and cost us one. Bye bye Malcolm.
At first i was angry at BB that he didnt play him, but if Butler really violated team policy (i except some heavy ****) then i am ok with that. This is just like in army. you depend on you buddy/teammate. If he screws you are deadman.

Ps: But benching Butler was BB gameplan then BB id moron

Ok, so does Philly.

See the difference?

Brady dropped 35 on NY in December and he probably assumed another 30+ in the SB.

Whoops.

Agree

If Jon Jones was not on IR, Butler would have been Inactive.

I think that is likely. I still wonder about the timing of it all....

Just so screwed up.

Make him Inactive for which secondary body? Name the PS player and explain why they are a better CB option than Butler.

Lol comparing the giants defense that year to the eagles this season. The eagles defense was overhyped.

I shouldn't respond, since I've read enough of your posts to...understand (lol).

First, yeah, Butler was humiliated and heartbroken. He played the most snaps of anyone this year and thought he was playing.

Second, I'm one of the most pro-BB people on the site. And have been for years. Rarely will you find critical posts from me about him or any of the players, even those who get a rough start here.

But like I said, I've read enough of your expert Mom's-basement analysis to...understand.

Butler and Richards don't play the same position.

Richards is not the choice there, but Bademosi, with more size than Butler, would be. So, I disgree with Richards as the choice. I have actually stated on here, that I think since Bademosi is such a good tackler (yes, I know he whiffed on 3rd, but so do a LOT OF CBs on Agoholor, which is why I wanted Gilmore hammering him in man at the line), and some size.

Richards is small, can only play downhill, has no lateral ability and zero range. Bademosi at least has size, some speed, and range.

Bademosi's skill set is far close to Chung's than what Butler does.
