Why do people hate Patriots QB Tom Brady so much?

Of course he makes the stupid comment that brady knew about the football deflation that never happened. Loser. Deserves to cover the Jete.

Because Brady defies everything that's suppose to be Football.
He gets better with age
He succeeds no matter his supporting cast
He can make ok players good make good players great
He has won so many games when it looked like he would clearly lose.
He doesn't have elite athletic skills he doesn't have a NFL bloodline.
He has been in so many contereversial situations that weren't any of his fault or doing.
He happens to be what most would say a Handsome guy he has a supermodel wife.
He is genuine he always credits his coaches team mates and coaches.
He always talks up the opposition he is humble which people don't believe so they assume he must be fake.
He has beaten every critic every naysayer and he keeps going.
Thats why non Patriot fans hate the Goat of Quarterbacks.

What’s odd is that people don’t even seem to hate Bill anymore. They’ve just gone to direct all their hate onto Brady.

I think it started out as hatred of Belichick, became hatred of the Patriots, and then crystallized into a hatred of Brady. There is absolutely nothing logical about it.

I know but he goes on to say it had no effect he hes not the only one that does it. Other than that i never thought i'd see the man write something as positive about Brady. It was quite surprising.

He didn't start out with the pedigree of a first round pick, but rather the 6th who was 4th on the depth chart..
One of the most telling stories was from Patriots Reign IIRC. Holley wrote about a scene in the weight room in preseason 2001. Brady was explaining defenses to some of the other players who were working out and one of the newer players, a FA signee asked who was that guy. When told it was the backup QB, he was stunned that the guy knew so much...and this was before Brady had ever started a game..
We have come to hate success in this country and try to chop it down whenever possible unfortunately.. Brady is the model of success that should be emulated not scorned...

Manish Mehta, of all people, gets it better than 90% of Boston sports journalists who could never bear to admit that their dislike of Brady has entirely to do with jealousy.

I think much of it is due to the Brady vs Manning thing where Brady always came out on top their first 5 or 6 years. Casual fans had to take sides and they went with the "underdog" team/player that could not get it done in the big spot. Plus Manning was marketed as an Aw Shucks average Joe while Brady was deemed a metro sexual who endorsed high end products. He is not "one of us". The media driven cheating scandals certainly did not help either.

It seems to me that the boston sports writers are unique in that they go out of their way to trash the pats. Off the top of my head i can't remember writers in other cities (mainly ny) making a living out of painting a home team in such a negative light on a winning team so consistently as do the dirty half dozen. Felger chb, tomASSe, borges, volin, and tanguay. If the pats were the patriots of the late eights early ninties that would be one thing, those teams sucked.

In the interest of full disclosure I have not and will not read the piece, but anyone who thinks Mehta has an ounce of genuine admiration or affection for Brady is out of her/his mind. He doesn't. He despises everything Patriots, Brady and Belichick with every fiber of his being.

Saying that Brady 'isn't the only one who does it' is just as bad. He didn't do jack sh!t and the only way that he could get labeled as a cheater was from lies by the NYFL and the mediots (hello Mort) and ignorance by the fans. Making Brady a bad guy while Peyton Manning is a good guy shows exactly how powerful the mediots have become.

I like Manush, his writing is good even if his opinions are generally so bad. I suppose you have to be a good writer when you are the beat writer for the Jets because they have been boring since 2010.
