Let's be real..

The 2007 Giants are like the ultimate turd in the punch bowl.

They are like when your best girl or your ex wife marries your brother.... or when Moss Lost invades your message board thread.

They were allowed to break something awesome.. no one cares about them.. everyone knows they suck.. and everyone secretly wishes 19-0 happened and history was made, even their own fans.

They were very fortunate Neal had to leave the game. That destabilized the entire OL and had a domino effect. Brady would have still been under pressure even with him in there, but nothing like that. I’m convinced that’s where the Pats lost the game.

Great offensive Line. Great defensive line. They were better than their 10-6 record indicated. They started that season 0-2. The 07 Pats team probably beats the 11 Giants team handily

Only a masochist goes there the night before Brady summits Olympus to evict Jordan and sit alone as the greatest team sport athlete of the modern era. Not to mention shutting up the squeelers about having 'one more than the rest.'
You must have been lost when the Sox reversed the curse.

Fred from Darthmouth, is that you??

Why would you let one superbowl ruin the other six that were, and will be won?

Resurrecting this nightmare before the Super Bowl?

I thought they were mediocre. Just look at the surrounding seasons for the Giants. I think the OP is right in that no one really views the 2007 as true champions, just a team that got lucky. Heck, even nfl.com recently put together a story ranking the best Patriots Superbowl teams, and 2007 was #1.

LOL, that's as appropriate as it gets. Because you are the turd in the punchbowl. How these chumps around here respond to you as if you're legitimate is beyond me.

Eli Manning has a very strange playoff history. He has played 14 years and yet has won a playoff game in only 2 of those 14 years. However, those 2 years where he did manage to win a playoff game, he won 'em all.

I don't think there is a single QB in the Super Bowl era who can claim multiple championships but never won a single playoff game in any other year.

they sucked and were unworthy that is the point

Nothing puts me in a great mood like a Super Bowl 42 thread, especially one that offers no insight but just flies around your head like a bee.
I love reflecting on 2007 Pats, best team in NFL history

by the way, same ranking where is the 2007 Giants?? I think nowhere

bigger Boston sports fan than you I guarantee

It really is a shame.

If they won that game, the Patriots would be considered the greatest dynasty, with the greatest head coach and the greatest quarterback of all-time.

Instead the Patriots are.....oh wait.

I always said I'd never get over that game but what the Patriots have done since has made everything fine. They didn't deserve to go 19-0.

The bottom line is you are what you do, if you don't win the Super Bowl you simply weren't as good as everyone assumed. People talk about bad luck costing them the Super Bowl, but luck cuts both ways - it took more than a little luck to reach 18-0 in the first place. They beat the Eagles (8-8), Ravens (5-11) and Giants by 3 points each in the regular season.

That loss really doesn't bother me much anymore. It took 10 years, but I am over it.

The NFL Network, ESPN, NBC, Fox all show the helmet catch more than they show any other play, ever, and THAT is what gets annoying. Not because of the loss, but because a very lucky, fluky play gets so overhyped.

Of course you do...lol
Sorry you took offense it was meant in the very best of Boston sports humor,. Any Boston fan over 40 would understand. With the stuff I've seen you post I mistook you for someone with a sense of humor. One would expect a "bigger Boston sports fan" to have one...along with a thicker skin. I for one freely admit to being a masochist for loving the Sox for all the years prior to '04, likewise with Jeremy Jacobs version of our Bruins pre salary cap. Prior to Kraft's arrival on the Boston sports ownership scene the commitment to winning championships was seriously lacking.
