Ian - What happened to the feature that took you back to last post when clicking on a thread?

As far as I can tell nothing has changed.

A thread with posts you haven't read shows in bold. If you click the thread name it takes you to the first post you haven't read yet. If the only post you haven't read yet is the last post it goes there.

A thread that you have read will not show in bold letters. If you click it you go to the first post.

Either I’m missing something or it was the best feature gone by..

No there used to be a feature that took you to your last viewed. 100% someone knows what I’m talking about.

No changes have been made - so I'm not sure what you're referring to. I'm usually able to click on a thread to be taken to the most current...

I know what you mean. I just noticed that has changed. I assumed it was the browser I am using

Used to be when I clicked a thread I was skipped ahead to the newest link I hadn’t seen. Am I imagining this?

Click on the dot.

When I do that, it takes me to this:

Huh..weird, when I click on the thread title it also does that, I've been clicking that dot for ages now for no reason?

Exactly. Mouseover the title and you'll see that if it's a thread you've previously read.

However, I noticed if you mouseover it after you read it again and someone hasn't replied, it doesn't trigger it and the action after clicking is different until the next reply.

Ian 2 things -

1) I’m on an iPhone is that messing with my “mouse over”?
2) Did I say you’re the man?

Good call - I haven't messed with it on my phone, so I'm not sure. I'll have to look at that. But you should still be able to click on it and get the desired result.

2) Did I say you’re the man?
I appreciate that - but hopefully we can help get your issue figured out. :)

Thanks I think you replied before my main comment though. The going to the “last read” has always been the best feature imo.

Not sure it's working same for me. Maybe a browser issue.

BTW I've been around to other teams boards a bit and this is by far the best designed. It's readable on my phone as well.

I thought that behavior used to be account based, so if I read a thread on my computer at work and then came home I'd get the updated location on my home pc. But recently I've noticed when I come home it goes to the last location read on that machine. Also to complicate and confuse things I'm not sure it's always consistent. But speaking of complicating and confusing I have about a half dozen work machines (for testing I have Macs, Windows, laptops, desktops, tablets and multiple phones (iPhone, android, blackberry)), one personal MacBook, one personal iPad, and my personal iPhone. And I routinely use multiple browsers (mostly safari and Firefox, sometimes Chrome and MSIE) on all of them. Of course, for testing web browsing PatsFans is one of my staples :). So considering things like potential caching interactions amongst all those I guess I should just be happy anything works.

But I recently specifically noticed the behavior of the feature discussed in the OP as not conforming to my expectations, and seemingly having changed. Of course it's also very possible (likely?) that some browser has made some changes that interacted with Ian's app in some strange way (I've recently had Chrome break cut and paste from one of my mobile banking sites, just one and not the other two, and I see Firefox say they just rearchitected their browser so I wouldn't be surprised if there are subtle incompatibilities lurking in the new code).

Gotta say, with all those things to worry about I think Ian does an absolutely wonderful job of consistently delivering a great site.

Let’s not turn this into a pissing

Ian does an amazing job. Can you expound on that?

I noticed you hit the "disagree" button on my post @p8ryts - let me know what browser you're using so I can at least try and help you out.
