Gilmore was great today

He has been doing so well that I’m embarrassed about ragging on him in the beginning

Think how bad you'd feel if you had to add "...of the gameday thread"

I cannot believe the pounding the defense took today. Not from the Jags. From their supposed fans.

Hell of a win, hell of a play, hell of a game in general -- and the Jags are thinking, "Oh THAT'S what the Patriots do to you" right about now.

Not just this game. He's been really good down the stretch. Can't get over that Heisman pose like play. Just awesome.

It was an incredible deflection, one of our best defensive plays this season...maybe the best. Just timed it beautifully.
He had a few big time plays. Flat out balled today

Definitely timed his jump right on the fourth down breakup.

Patriot of the week?

Timing was sweeeeeet, and that PD needed perfect timing. Credit Bortles because that pass traveled a long way yet it looked to be on the money. It would have caused the Patriots a pretty high mountain to overcome if completed (I'm not of the mind it was game saving but the hole would have been DEEP).

Btw, Gilmore was all over his assignment all day. It makes a QB have to look away to another receiver (giving more time for the pass rush to get in) or have less options outright. And if Gilmore doesn't overrun that one completion (and his coverage was great otherwise) he goes from likely the best D performer all day to the gold standard best D performer.

Gilmore vs Jeffrey should be a battle. 2 ex-Gamecocks - likely faced off hundreds of times in practice.

he has had a better year than butler.
He proved that we need a #1 corner, Bulter does not suck, but he is at best a very good #2, and should be paid as such. This by no means undermines his own achievement coming from an undrafted guy, he just ain't worth a #1 corner money, and we proved it this year.

I think it was definitely game-saving. Gilmore would have been on the ground with Westbrook jogging into the end zone if he had missed.

Big time play, by a big time player..

Not sure if this is why, but all of a sudden Butler does not look all that good.. he will still get paid, but his value may have decreased this year.

Gilmore's swag reminded me of Talib when he shut down Jimmy Graham. Great game and incredible play!
