How can you be disappointed when Cleteman blew the call? It was plain as day that Lewis was on the ground with the ball pinned on his hip. That's control. By RULE, he should have been down.

The only way Cleteman could have called a lack of control was if Jack's hand was between Lewis' hip and the ball. It wasn't. Jack's hand was at the top of the ball and then he reached in with the 2nd one and pulled it out. But only AFTER Lewis was on the ground..

He started to lose control before he hit the ground, it was a fumble imo. Regardless its not even just the fumble, he really didn't make plays today like cooks and dola stepping up huge

To all the haters out there complaining about the penalty disparity:

The sequence of tweets by Jets writer Mehta is epic

-cheered that Gronk was out
-commented on the quieted crowd
-call the Patriots the evil empire
-pleaded for the Jags to hold on
-cried that Brady, somehow, might just find a way to get it done
-declared that he would NEVER again count out the Patriots
-declared Brady to be the GOAT

If you're on twitter, its epic, his collapse
It’s like when Napoléon hit the shores of France to regain his title, Paris media had “The terror returns”. When he marched into the capital it had become “Vive l’Empéreur !”

What a game guys....Danny was amazing, Brady was great, Cooks played well and our defense played really well in the 2nd half..

Nice to get a win against this cheap shot team!!! I love it...

Let's discuss!!!!
What an INCREDIBLE ride. Seriously! I remember just getting into Football in my youth. We couldn't even WATCH the games because they were so bad that they didn't sell out and couldn't be televised! We used to get stomped by the Great Bills teams and even the Dolphins. That is even more reason I'm enjoying these past 18 years. Most of us Patriots fans have paid our dues and are reaping unprecedented rewards! I appreciate what this franchise has done SO MUCH. I'll NEVER take any of these yards, plays or wins for granted. We are so far out into uncharted waters now and it's an incredible feeling. Eat this UP Pats Fans! It's never been done before and likely never will again!! #GOPATS #NOTDONE

Nothing more satisfying than watching 2 NFC teams killing each other, while knowing your team has already punched its ticket to the big game.

Dilly dilly

I hate to admit it but there was a point I had doubts about them coming back, but I never gave up, never would as long as we have Brady and time on the clock!

To pat myself on the back... posted this halfway into the first quarter:

Feels a lot like yet another game where the other team’s defense plays with too much intensity early and is gassed by the third quarter and can’t hang. We’ll see.

And then during the second quarter...

It looks scary at first, but things should hopefully start coming back the other way soon. Jags showed their hand and the Pats adjust on D. Meanwhile, the Jags’ D plays too fast and wears itself out.

Kind of a similar formula to Atlanta last year except more run-heavy with a worse QB.

Glad it worked out.

Jax made a concerted effort to stop DLew

Didn’t think it was a fumble. Down with control at least instantaneously which should count.

The much maligned Gilmore was very good tonight, especially in the 2nd half.

The bitter media is claiming that the whistle after the fumble cost the Jags the game when Jack gained possession he was on the ground and in contact with Lewis's body, funny how little the media knows of the rules.

Brady 8-4 in AFCCG's only 10 QB's in the history of the league have better regular season winning%.

Time to eat

My wife made RI style hot weiners

I don't understand the doubters that have been on here for a dozen years or so and every week its the same. The defense sucks, the offense sucks, matty p sucks, mcdaniles sucks brady sucks, etc, etc, etc they need to find another team.

Tom Brady's the G.O.A.T., but even he's not perfect.

Just scanning the media and read the NYT story, saw this:

It would have been shocking for any other team and quarterback, but seemed par for the course in this case.

So true. I swear if you made a list of the ten most dramatic playoff and super bowl games, at least would have to involve the B.B./TB Patriots. But no one producing such a list would do that because it would be so offputting to the rest of the leagues fans.

We are so fortunate.

Offensive Line. Defensive line. Mostly outstanding in the second half. But they “suck,” blah, blah, blah.
