LOL, I never thought of calling it a day then, but now (53 yrs. old) I am dreading being that cold. I'm still going though! Also, a win makes you feel that much warmer at one of these games!
Well, champagne helps too. That will keep you warm.:D

Never mind you...
Hey, as long as your daughter wears the proper footwear and we don't have a repeat of the 49ers game we should be all set. But thankfully we are inside pregame and not out in the parking lot.

Alcohol in cold weather is the kiss of death. I've seen people drink beer at winter games and end up shivering uncontrollably.

I'll be drinking my beer from the warmths of the Turtle Club. Sorry, no good pics!

Brandy wears a braded chain made of finest silver from the north of Spain
I’m only 42 but I know what you’re going for. I’m on the fence with the “like” but I just listened to “I am Santa Claus” (the Iron Maiden spoof) so I can only give you the smiley.

I’ve seen people not drink alcohol and freeze their asses off. Getting hammered is a bad idea. Administered in proper doses blackberry brandy can and will warm your insides (for whatever reason - I’m not a brandy drinker).

I hate to do it but I may wear my gortex socks. I hate how they slip around on the foot section of my recliner but if I must I must.

How good are those gortex socks? Do they keep your feet from getting wet, and how's the breath ability? Does your feet sweat a lot?

I’m a brandy drinker, as well as any other type of alcohol, I never shiver and am always happy so long as we win by ten or more

Utter nonsense. It's a physiological fact that drinking alcohol in cold weather puts you at greater risk for hypothermia.

Alcohol and warmth: the big misconception
Alcohol can make you think that you’re warm. But the balmy glow and red cheeks that come with a drink are deceptive.

“When you drink, it dilates the peripheral blood vessels near your skin, which means more blood – and heat – flows to these vessels,” says Professor Colin Drummond, head of the Section of Alcohol Research at King’s College London. “That takes blood and heat away from the core of your body. So while it feels like you’re warm because your skin is warm, your vital organs aren’t as warm as you might think they are.

“If you then go out in the cold after drinking, because you’ve got a lot of heat on the periphery of your body, you can lose heat very easily and quickly. And that can be dangerous.”

LOL, I am still going, but on New Year's I have managed to procure a bunch of tickets for my kids and their friends, so I am going to be walking to the stadium with a bunch of teenagers, that is to say that I will be walking alone, because they leave me in the dust. For me my feet are always the worst and I have never managed to find the best solution. If I wear big heavy work boots (the warmest I have found) my feet are aching by the end of the night, and I am gimping on the walk back to the car. If I wear my comfortable UGGS or sneakers (can't even consider them at this time of year), then my feet are freezing half way through the game (the cold concrete at Gillette is brutal on anything with a thin sole - foot warmers don't seem to work for me) and I am gimping back to the car. I have some Merrell hiking boots that I am going to try this weekend.

I hear you on the sweating then freezing dilemma too. I often go to an indoor tailgate so I am hot before leaving for game, freezing as I start to walk, sweating as I reach the stadium, then freezing again by half time, then the foot problem usually kicks in. God, as I read this I sound like a such a complainer, LOL. This past weekend I went with a friend who had a parking pass, so sitting in the warm car 5 minutes after leaving my seat was a treat. What I really need is someone to donate club seats and a helicopter ride for each game to me. Any volunteers? LOL.
You're a New Englander, so this is probably unnecessary advice, but my teenagers are usually oblivious to the cold...until they realize they are cold, when it's too late. Something to do with youthful invincibility...or stupidity...but what's the difference. The wind chill can be below 20 and they'll try to leave for school in a summer hoodie, no woolen cap...one of them wanted to wear shorts when it was in the low 30's.

That's excellent and potentially life-saving advice.

When I lived in New England, I used to love grilling steaks on the patio on cold, snowy nights.

Outside for 10 or 15 minutes, all bundled up? Nothing like a nice Manhattan or neat Bourbon to warm your toes as you enjoy the marvels of gas cooking and appreciate the beauty of the woods in Boston's ex-urbs. You get that nice warm flush described above before you go back inside.

Any longer? Not a good idea.

I've seen people not drink beer and shiver uncontrollably. Of course, they were alcoholics, so...

I could care less about disagree or rankings but you’re telling me that brandy doesn’t warm my insides on a cold day? Because that’s exactly what I said.

...better not share this with the Coors light vendor at Gillette...
