What is Wrong with Brady? The Debate Continues...

So my wondering what Brady has to work on (i.e. why he is struggling, relative to his usual standards), is me not wanting our QB to work a little? I think this entire thread is quite amusing since most of the fans on here don't want to discuss what Brady needs to work on, but rather would hum en masse "lalala GOAT GOAT!".

Brady is the greatest of all time, but he has achieved that mantle by asking more of himself and demanding those around him (including fans) challenge him to maintain his standard of excellence. What most in this thread have argued, conversely, is that we should just be grateful for everything Brady-related and not consistently hold him and the Patriots to the highest of standards. Standards, I might add, that place him and the team above all other teams. Is questioning what is wrong with him, as a manner of establishing "What can he and the Patriots do better?" that wrong and laughable? Such questions arei said from a place of wanting this team to win another Super Bowl and not from a whiny, entitled position.

What a load of sh.t, you called him a liability.

Revise history much?

And the whiney entitled little ***** is you bud, you’re the one who isn’t close to satisfied with a 21 point win using scrubs at skill positions. You and the rest of the whiney little crybaby *****es should find another team to root for as this one clearly doesn’t meet your lofty standards.

I didn't refute that I said that. Early in the game, he threw a pick 6. That's a streak of games where his mistakes placed the team in a position to lose. Brady admits to these errors being crucial - why don't you seem to care, though? I never advocated that Brady get benched, traded, or anything. I merely -- through some genuine and some sarcastic language -- asked whether something was wrong with him that was causing him to have a streak of games where he was committing turnovers and missing more passes than usual.

If we don't get that Bills touchdown overturned at the end of the half, they enter halftime with the lead and the ball coming out of the locker room. If that happened, the momentum is far different and we don't pad the score down the stretch with the Bills reeling. This was a very close game, and Brady (as well as guys like Britt who are still learning) almost cost them the game.

I'm just glad the running game is starting to be a force, because Brady is not 100% right now from a statistical standpoint the last four games. A little rest and practice with returning teammates should get him back to normal.

So what's your problem with any of what I'm saying? Are you annoyed that Brady is being held to a high standard? Or that the team won and yet not everyone is 100% content with how the team played early in the game?

You called Brady a liability, period, don’t try to make believe that others are the issue here, your idiotic take is the reason your are taking heat.

They won by 21 using scrubs. Stop trying to make sh.t up.

Honestly man, with that attitude it doesn't seem you have learned much from watching the Patriots. Brady and Belichick are champions because they champion staying hungry and never being satisfied. You on the other hand just claimed that everyone on this board should be "satisfied with a 21 point win." Belichick won't be framing the game that way. This was a grudge match that was 16-16 until near the end of the third quarter.

It would honestly be sad to see how much a loser attitude like "be happy" would have on the Patriots locker room. I'm not a fan of sexist language, but frankly the way you get to be a little ***** in the NFL is forgetting to only focus on the next game and how to improve for it... not reveling in a win over the Jills while managing to spell whiny wrong.

There is a significant contingent of Patriot fans who are simply never happy, no matter what they do, and this season and yesterday’s game prove that beyond any shadow of a doubt. Misery loves company, that’s why you bond so well,

Boo hoo hoo.

Let’s watch the locker celebration to see if they are as miserable as you are?

I’m guessing they weren’t.

So you think the Patriots win titles by being happy munchkins sipping their dunkin donuts lattes and talking about the good times? No. They man up and work their asses off to get better while guys like you whine about anyone calling out bad play.

It honestly makes me sick to see homers being homers. Brady would shake his head.

Ivan... trolls like you are going to troll. Here's hoping your delusion isn't broken, since it seems reality is too depressing for you.

The Patriots don’t “ man up” that’s your job. It’s your manliness that gets them up that hill every day. It’s your toughness that drives them on. They achieved nothing and have you to thank for reminding them of that. Thanks so much General Patton.

No and I think this is always a conversation that can be had. The only problem is that this kind of thread baits in the clown brigade that does all their reasoning via stats, gut feeling or anecdotal things which is an asinine thing to do.

Just because a QB is throwing fewer TDs (or yards) than he did before doesnt mean that he is playing worse. Especially if in that span they continue to be around their season average of points scored and win 2 out of 4 games by 20 points+.

Similarly, just because he has 5 INTs in 4 games it doesnt automatically follow that he is regressing. If you want to have a serious discussion about this you have to take the effort and go through those turnovers and try to figure out the root cause for them.

And if you ask me only one of those 5 interceptions was concerning and that was the one against the Steelers where he should have just taken a sack or (preferably) thrown the ball away.

The others were either ******** (@Bills Gronk getting mugged out of his route), giving Cooks a chance to make a 50/50 play on a day where nothing seemed to work or simply misreading the coverage (yesterday). Those are things that happen now and then when you have had 516 passing attempts so far in a season.

Are there any obvious physical issues ? I dont see anything substantial when I rewatch the last couple of games. When Brady gets the space in the pocket and the interior (Thuney !) doesnt collapse he moves as smoothly as he did the rest of the year. When he throws those seam passes to Gronk he gets all the zip and accuracy on the ball that he usually does.

Did he overthrow Cooks yesterday ? Yep. Is this the first time in his career that this happened ? Hell no.

Again, we can talk about all of this as much as we want as long as it happens on an informed basis and not the hawt taek crap where someone posts some box stats or claims that Brady is clearly affected by the injury without providing any scenes that show that.

Otherwise we should change the title of the thread to Post hoc ergo propter hoc.

“Mate?”

Sweet baby Jesus don’t tell me we have another Sam Monson or that other Irish moron who wrote the article about “ Interceptable passes” in the House?

Although that would explain everything as you clearly don’t know what the f.ck you are talking about.

I’m telling you guys here that some pats fans have taken the mediot’s bait. He has a bad game or throws a pick or misses some throws then he’s in decay and the cliff if coming or he has one year left, but Rodgers threw three picks last week and some of guys excuse him by saying he’s hurt and he has all his top targets too. Garapolo threw the same number of picks today as Tom and there is no negative reaction to that, in fact some of you say we made a mistake trading him and should have let Brady do instead. Some of you are so gullible and eat everything the mediots cook. The guy gives you 5 Super Bowls and you can not even give him the benefit of the doubt.

By “ bad play” you must mean a 21 point win despite using scrubs at key positions. You really should find another team to root for, it would be easy as I have no doubt you even started rooting for them until they already had three Lombardi’s on the shelf at Gillette.

It almost feels like you are a politician. You have the same little stump speech --"scrubs!" -- prepared to defend your man crush Brady. How in all honesty, don't you see this win as the result of a phenomenal effort by Lewis and the offensive line/TEs with run blocking. Until down the stretch, Brady was struggling. Sure, half of that is because of scrubs, but the other half is him being a little out of sync. And why, in God's green earth, is that so difficult for you to admit to. Jeez, man... you can't be objective in the slightest.

The troll is the person who claimed Brady was a “ liability,” you know, like a Rob Parker, Shannon Sharpe, or Max Zkellerman would, and that wasn’t me.

I wonder who that was?

I take that back, you are a moron.

I do give him the benefit of the doubt. I think he'll be fine in a few weeks. What most people on here refuse to accept is that his play today, in some respects, was hurting the rest of the team. If a player coughs up the ball... we complain about that player all week. Why shouldn't we hold Brady to the same standard we hold everyone else. I'm simply saying... let's always hold each player accountable rather than giving a veteran the "benefit of the doubt." That attitude is an open excuse for complacency.

You must believe the Patriots won’t score if you go to the kitchen for a beer.

Newsflash, nothing any of us think has anything to do with the Patriots success or failure, and your idiocy about holding them accountable is just that.
