What is Wrong with Brady? The Debate Continues...

Brady’s stats over the last 4 games
12/3 @ Buf - 258 yards - 0 TD’s - 1 INT
12/11 @ MIA - 233 yards - 1 TD - 2 INT
12/17 @ PIT - 298 yards - 1 TD - 1 INT
12/24 BUF - 224 yards - 2 TD - 1 INT

Brady’s last 4 games
253 avg passing yards - 4 TD’s & 5 INT

Spin it anyway you want, the numbers dont lie.

The numbers should also say we won three of those games and all were road games. His Achilles started hurting during the Miami games and if you look at these number you can see improvement with every week that allows him to heal more. The td numbers are so misleading when we run them in instead of passing, especially when passing gets us down there most of the times. Numbers don’t tell the whole story:

If you've never seen Brady win after struggling, you haven't watched his career.

Main problem with last couple of INTs is they were in our territory and led to 7 points for the opposing team.

During this span the Pats have scored 107 points, which is 26.75 ppg. That's barely less than their season average of 28.2 and would be 5th in the league, a drop of just one rank. 6 more points in the last four games and they're at their average. Think they score 6 more points if Gronk plays vs. Miami?

Whatever problems with the offense there are do not begin and end with "Brady is slumping". We were using our 3rd RT for awhile and signed and immediately played Kenny Britt. The offense adjusted by running more and kept up the scoring pace.

I want to throw in my opinion on this, which won't be all too favorable, so be ready:

I feel like we are seeing the decay. It's not a cliff, or anything like that, but it's a small hole, that will be kept being dig game after game by Father Time.

Some throws, specially at the beginning of games, lack power. It's noticeble how much thrust he's putting in 10 yard throws to the sideline, which is something that he has never done before. Also. if we compare how much he was moving in the beginning of the season to now, his stiffness is much more evident

Is he injured? Yes. Is he more or less injured than last year or the year before (when he was getting murdered in every snap) ? I can't say...

This will be the first time I'll try to predict Brady's future, hopefully he proves me wrong, like he has proven everyone in the league so far: Next season will be the last season we see Brady as a Top 3 QB in the League.

Man, this is a horrible post. I started watching this damn sport because of him.... I don't know what will happen to my motivation for the NFL when he retires :(

Let's be fair then... he has averaged over 100 passer rating over the last 5 weeks he was missing today his top 3 wr targets from last year, his first and third down passing running backs... and then straight after he threw the pick marched down the field for a TD AND he scored on every subsequent possession.

He is probably a little fatigued after a series of away games + not a 100% confident with his body.

Hogan, Lewis etc will be back

If Mitchell comes back.. wowee

I hope so

But he’s missing throws, and looks uncomfortable. I hope it’s nothing, but something seems up

He’ll be fine.

If we can run like we did today... and get healthy... this team repeats and we don’t need to lean on the 40 year old GOAT and likely MVP to do it.

He had a 106.8 rating, but still managed to miss more throws than earlier in the season and threw a pick 6. I'm not sure how he is happy with this performance. I stated he was a liability because he was slightly off and the running game helped to mask that. It is amazing he got a great game, technically, when he has been off for about a month.
No offense, but much of the team is stripped down to 2nd and 3rd stringers.

He struggled a bit in the 1st half, but he is human.

The Jills always play us tuff.
You have to admit the 2nd half was classic, beat down, angry TB.

I'm certainly not worried.

We have the best QB to live, going into the playoffs.

That's what you want when much of your team 2nd and 3rd stringers.

Plus we have some starters coming back.

We are blessed

With Hollister and Britt catching some of their first passes, and more targets and catches by Dorsett and Allen etc, certainly you can tell that the familiarity was missing. But Tom pushed through. The pick-6 was a pass to Britt.

It was a bad play. Brady looked off Gronk so he was late on a slant and Poyer jumped the route. No way Britt bears any blame at all.

No more jimmy g around to push him

Hoyer the destroyer doesn’t offer that

That’s why the bye was so crucial. Hopefully the Steelers lay an egg tomorrow and give us a 2 week bye!

We've already had some theories discussed the past few weeks, but after today's pick 6... let's have another go at the topic. Long story short, what is wrong with Brady? He has been missing open receivers, has been throwing picks, etc. I'd say it is about the pass rush of the opposition, but even when the pressure isn't there he has been playing like the boogeyman is about to get him. In year's past, he's been hit more often but hasn't played like this for this number of games.

So, is this him fighting an injury? A disruption to his training regimen? A psychic disturbance from beyond the grave or Peyton with a voodoo doll? Marriage trouble? The beginning of the dive off the cliff (aka "This is 40, Part II")?

Today, Brady was a liability. The team would have beat the Bills 36-9 if you take away the pick 6. Brady had some good throws, but as many iffy ones. As a follow-up, who believes Brady can shake this off if they beat the Jets and get a bye/homefield?
Admit you are a “dumb dumb” and move on.

Two observations:

1.) there is no doubt in my mind that brady’s Ball has lost a good bit of zip since he hurt hid archillies. Pre-injury some of his picks never happen, but post injury he has lost zip on the ball and defenders are getting their hands of some of these zipless throws.

2.) maybe we sometimes drink gallons too much of the cool aid. We need to lay of the cool aid and take a step back and realize that Brady is like every other football player. He has good plays and bad plays. Defensive coordinates adjust and sometimes the ball just bounces the other guys way!

If you've never seen Brady win after struggling, you haven't watched his career.

In fact, the entire offense picked it up after the Pick 6. It’s like it woke them up. They scored 37 points against a team that is 3rd in defense yardage and 10th in points.

Dion Lewis was clearly off as well. I mean, he had a touchdown and 130 yards and all but he should have had 3 or 4 touchdowns and 230 yards. I mean Jesus who couldn’t see that?

Worst 21 point win ever. The defense really sucked! ( mad emoji)! So what if they only let up 9 points they shouldn’t have let up any! (mad emoji)!

I’m tired of them sucking! They will never beat KC at Arrowhead with this team! ( hanging myself from the pipes in my basement emoji)

As long as we get the 1st homerun. That's all I care about.

;)

We have to face reality, folks. The Tom Brady we knew is pretty much gone. Having turned 40 and taken so many hits, our All-Universe QB is now merely All-Galaxy.
