So why did Ben even signal ? The QB-communication should be up at this point and he could let the sideline decide instead of ****ing jumping around and signaling timeout.

At this point I am not sure what reflects worse on that organization. If they just screwed it all up by being unprepared and incompetent or if they are truthful about it all in those post game interviews and just revealed how incredibly chaotic their entire structure is.

But given how we have seen Big Ben stretching while waiting for the refs to call the James non-catch and others just standing around I would assume that they are just full of **** and in the Steelers default mode after their traditional loss to the Patriots: excuse mode

Listening to the sound bites coming out of Pittsburgh all I can say is what a clusterflock., no wonder TB kicks their ass every year.

This is funny to me.
The patriots arduously prepare for every situation imaginable and with their backs against the wall make the biggest plays at the biggest moments when the odds are against them. Then they start working on the next game.

The Steelers can’t execute a situation and spent the next 2 days trying to tell everyone it was someone else’s fault.

I know Houston is a ****show right now but Pittsburgh is ripe to be upset this week and many other bad teams have taken them to the wire WITH AB there to bail them out. And its on the road

This is an incredible statement.

I'm dramatizing this a little but hes basically saying the players have the right to decide if their decision is better than the coaching staff's.

I love how all these teams just meltdown after a big loss to the Patriots. They lose their minds.

The way I look at Pittsburgh as a whole:

They have some awesome scouts who can recognize talent. On raw talent alone on offense, they are IMO the best in the league (WRs, RBs, TEs, OL). The problem for that team is the coaching, attitude, management, etc. Why is that?

Their coaches aren't fully prepared for every scenario the way BB is. Their entire team from the coaches down to the players don't fully know the rule book and then make non stop excuses when the rule is clear as day. The way they tackle as a team is not only physical, but bordering on dirty (I see everyone on that team lead with the crown of their helmets), going for kill shots instead of making a textbook tackle. Their whole culture is reflective of perhaps the fastest car on the race track that is rough around the edges and full of impulse.

Ridley to the Steelers...is interesting. Wo nder what ( if any) info he can give them on the Patriots..

So you have already complained about Rowe and Gilmore as starters (which we dont know) and now this ****ing paranoia about this stupidity.

Diddnt Ian just tell you that if you dont change your ways here we are going to have a problem?

The Tomlin Rule:

When a team calls a timeout, a confirmation timeout will stop the clock for 10 seconds so the referees can confirm if the team calling the timeout really wants the timeout or not.

I am curious about this
1) Why a SB winning potential HOF QB need to ask the sideline if they should take time out ?
2) The same qb wasted a timeout because of a potential delay of game
3 ) Why doesn't the Coach, tell the refs before the plays what he wants if a) b) or c) wrt to timeouts ?Or tell the QB that if you get to the beyond the 50 yard line dont take a timeout ?

this seems very odd to me or my understanding is very minimal.

FWIW -

Bell's back up, Conner, is done for the season. He's being replaced by ....

Stevan Ridley.

I wish Ridley had a Pats tattoo. That would have been awesome. Guess the rats tattoo will have to do...

Looking forward to listening to paul ziess (sp?) tonight, who seems to be one of the few reasonable voices in Pittsburgh. Yesterday he ripped ben and the steeler fans who cried about the non catch. Hope he’ll be discussing todays claims

Wanted to wait until tmw to start criticizing but I totally agree with your point about Cooks. Been saying it for a while but it really looks like Josh has no clue how to use him properly or put him into a position (in space) in which he can flourish.

I am not sure he will ever be a player who can beat man except for outrunning the other player or via the comeback route.

Disagree, Cooks is a really young player with a good deal of experience under his belt, he can learn how to beat the press at the line, and McDaniels can put him in motion in numerous ways to help with that issue. It’s a weakness now but that can change.
