Win. Back against the wall. On the road. High stakes.

Brady on fire. Gronk on mission.
Surprise contributor on offense: Mike Gillislee.
Surprise contributor on defense: Jonathan Jones.

Will be at the Ketchup bottle to see it myself.

Gillislee won't.
In all seriousness - what the heck happened with Gillislee? He was supposed to be our #1 back. I know that Burkhead, Lewis and White have been great and that there is no room at the inn, but why not just cut the guy (or trade him when we could, for anything), particularly where we are scrambling for roster spots? Inactive week after week. Weird. Not to mention a waste of $$.

When was the last time the Pats won a "gotta have it" road game against a good team? I'm not talking beating the NYJ in December....nit saying they haven't done it, but they've usually been in cruise control for #1 seed at this point or haven't had any tough road games left...

I've wrestled with his status as well but I believe it to be that Rex and DLew represent a more diverse offensive option for the team to utilize as they can run and catch wheras Gillislee is a pure runner.

Last year they finished with 4 of 5 at home. 3 years ago they beat SD and NYJ on the road.

You’re taking quirks of scheduling and using it to imply the Patriots can’t win tough road games late in the season. It’s not NE’s fault the schedule makers made it an easy December those years.

Look no further than the Denver game last year for a 'got to have it' road game that we won.

Before I answer I need to know the rules. I'm guessing Raiders, Broncos, Seahawks , Falcons, Show Ponies etc... don't count.

Did the pats beat any of them on road late season when both were jockeying for playoff position?

Right, so OP is false

Ok got it. So jockeying for a playoff position is bigger than a Super Bowl and any of the road wins this season because they have already won them which means they weren't big games.

How many times have you given up on this team before the game was played?

That Denver game was a tough road win. Always a great win in Denver unless Tebow is involved.

RBs are usually going to be prone to injury just due to the nature of the position, yet (other than a Burkhead hiatus) we have not been short-handed there. Remember 2015 and relying on the corpse of Steven Jackson at the end of the year? Uggghhh....

I think the reasonable expectation of RB injuries is what has kept Gill on the roster yet inactive. It might be about time to cut bait, though.

No because the theme of his post is not “late season road games.” That was the criteria that you interjected.

I agree with the OP. We’ve seen multiple examples of the Patriots losing, followed by a week of “what’s wrong with the Patriots... qb too old.... they are not that good this year....” and other assorted nonsense (like we are seeing since Monday).

It’s times like those where they tend to come out and beat up the opponent.

It's still crazy to think this team could lose of those BYEs after cruising to 8 straight wins by losing two games in a row. Again the Miami slipup really made this week a must win.

People also forgetting the December 2012
Good list but they forgot 2007 pats at colts, believe it was 7-0 vs 6-0 or close

There was also the December 2012 Houston Texans "letterman jacket" game. But that was in NE. Houston was 11-1 at the time.

Super Bowls are not "road" games with hostile crowds last time I checked, no?

Pats win Sunday at Pittsburgh, that's a MASSIVE win on road, hostile crowd, etc...Pats haven't had that situation in a LONG time..maybe the goal line stand in Indianapolis in 03 or 04...
