Based on the financials, I think they were doing this regardless.

2018: $22.2m cap hit. $12.4m dead cap if gone. Plus hes due a $5m roster bonus in 2018 and $16m total cash.

2019: $23.2m cap hit .$6.2m dead cap if gone
