Brady Dealing With Achilles Injury

Casual NFL/Pats fan here. It always surprises me that they leave him in for the whole game when it is won. He's 40 years old playing in the key position in the team. Would it not make sense to give him a rest for the 4th quarter, for example, of games that are effectively over as a contest? This has the added benefit of giving valuable gametime to his backup (Hoyer?), so he is ready if called upon later in the season.
One could argue it is helpful for the offense to get extra work on their timing, but I agree with you.

For that matter, I’m perplexed by the Garoppolo trade. He was already familiar with the system and could usefully have played several games or parts of games. If they’d wanted to trade him, why wait for the middle of the season when is value was much less than at the beginning. But that issue has been rehashed, and we don’t know for sure what Belichick’s assessment of Garoppolo's ability.

I am very concerned by this possible injury in any case.

Not good. Especially considering his “age.”

Again, my point is that if the Achilles IS partially torn, rest won't help it, only surgery. A player can remain somewhat functional playing on a partially torn Achilles, but once it tears completely it's sayonara season.
But that's not true. If it's partially torn immobilized for a few weeks with a walking book will be fine.

6 games left. Hope he can pulled through. Interesting to see how it affects his accuracy if any.

Does anyone know if it's his right or left achilles? The right will take much more pressure given it's his plant foot on dropbacks.

On another note, does anyone know or heard about Andrews illness? He was out last Thursday and a week later still not practicing. Hopefully a bad cold or flu in which case, stay away.

Gotta be something more than a cold to be unable to even do limited practice a week later. Hope to hell it's not actual influenza. Especially with Gronk being listed as ill. Some bad stuff was going around in the Southern Hemisphere the past months so it's looking like a bad season for us. And a particularly nasty strain is not a good match for what they had to guess 6 months ago to put in the vaccine.

Still plenty of football left and HFA still on dispute but I hope they can find a way to give Brady an extra bye between the AFCE fest that is coming, I know he doesn't want to miss time and sit but they gotta be smart in managing the work load from here on.

tendonosis?...oh well, as long as it's not rhinocerosis I ok with it..

lol

Achilles Tendinosis
What is Achilles tendinosis?
When the Achilles tendon degenerates and become inflamed, the condition is called Achilles tendinosis. The tendon can swell and may cause pain. This condition is common in athletes, runners and patients who have calf tightness. Achilles tendinosis may occur in the middle of the tendon. This is known as midsubstance Achilles tendinosis. It may also occur at the point where the tendon connects to the heel bone. This is known as insertional Achilles tendinosis.

someone specified that its really an achilles?

that leads me to believe its less than nothing and they randomely chose achilles, or its actually something else thats the issue and they said achilles

This. I had the exact same thought.

When this whole thing came about, the first thing I said to myself was "well, the problem is anything but the Achilles...."

I will be looking at his accuracy and his footwork on Sunday. Better protect him from these cheap shot artists on the doofins.

I hear a lot of you guys say Jimmy G knew the system. If you ever listened the BB do his radio interviews he said that the system they ran when Jimmy was QB was different from the system they ran with Tom. He knew his system well but whoever is QB BB devises a system for that QBs strength.
