Cassius Marsh Released

He looked like the skinniest guy out there, and he a lineman. That new Ricky castoff guy they just signed looks like he could've ate Marsh as a snack.

How do we know he didn't?

As you as you get your cranial/rectal inversion procedure done. SMH..

Seriously? They are the measured sizes taken at the combines. Not some guesswork BS by some keyboard jockey such as yourself..

You claimed that he was "too small" and your claim is BS. Changing your argument to talk about Marsh's "frame" doesn't help you either..
You can fantasize about rectal procedures all you like, but Marsh doesn't have the size to fill Ninko's shoes or assume the role previously held by Ninko.

OTOH how many players have floundered in other systems only to play well for the Pats; Van Noy, Amendola, Burkhead, Hogan to name a few... wonder if their message boards are whining about the same thing..

Evaluating NFL players is a crap shoot, some guys work out in our system and others do not..
Amendola was very good with the Rams. I don't know if the others you mentioned "floundered " . Never really saw Van Noy in Detroit but Hogan and Burkhead were contributors on their teams.

Thats because you have had no clue about what you are posting for years. Going back to how you were bashing Amendola for years until you looked so ridiculously moronic that you had no other choice but finally own it.

Also you lack reading comprehension and cant deal with nuance at all because at no point was I slighting Coleman. My point is that he simply is a better fit for the simple, static system that Seattle is running rather than all the additional responsibilities he had here. He wouldnt have developed to be a average player here.

In essence, it is the same naive argument that some posters have about trading JB to the Colts being a mistake. No, it was not a mistake because the player wouldnt be able to function the same way here as he can where ever he is now.

Gillislee was a cheap acquisition who is an upgrade over Blount in pass protection. Nothing more or less. He will have a bigger role when the weather will be colder and running the ball will be more important.
Boys,Boys! Why is this thread so snarky. Just disagree don't be personal and judgemental

Bill Belichick is due some criticism for his failure to adequately replace
Nincovitch, Long, and Sheard but should receive accolades for reenergizing
our offense with players like Lewis, Cooks, Burkhead, and Hogan.
I need to find a safe space. It really bothers me when people criticize Bill.

What I like about BB is that he is not afraid to admit a mistake a move on. Everyone knows that. No matter what you are paid, if you do not perform, you could lose your job. That applies to Brady and it applies to the 3rd stinger on special teams. Very simple for people to understand.

Gillislee was a cheap acquisition? He has the 15th highest cap hit of any RB in the NFL and he cost us a 5th round pick on top of that. You don’t even know what you’re talking about you just type it with the hope that nobody bothers to check the validity of it.

I might have over done the Amendola bashing and I have owned that many times. For the record though my issues with Amendola were primarily financially and seeing as the team has asked him to restructure 3 years in a row I don’t think my position was wrong, my approach was simply excessive.

We did not win the Brissett trade and anyone who would argue otherwise is a delusional homer and that’s not even debatable.

Take a look at how Flowers has added firepower to our ST and the price that was paid for him and there is no other way than calling his acquisition a big win. But then of course its only ST so who gives a ****, amirite ?
A big win is a ridiculous assertion. He has been a solid acquisition. Signing Mallcom Butler as an UDFA is a big win. Flowers value has been what was anticipated.

To be fair though, the team is on it's way to another division title, another 13 or 14 win season and is the favorite to reach the super bowl again. I don't see how Bill can be criticized at this point when the team is playing it's best football. After all, isn't that the main point...winning? To me, he's doing a pretty good job of that!!!!

Gillislee is a loss to this point. If you're going to try claiming a lack of homer bias, you have to acknowledge something that obvious.

Wish we had claim Ifeadi Odenigbo from the Vikings. That team has done a great job recently drafting pass rushers and Ifeadi's a victim of the depth that the Vikings have at DE
According to this, he is still on Vikings PS and therefore available to be signed to another team's 53 if he so chooses:

Another player I would've tried to sign from another team's PS (before I ever would've considered an absolutely useless nobody like Eric Lee, who will Never amount to Anything, Ever) is Garrett Sickles from the Rams.

What we have here is, failure of the front office to judge talent and value, again.

It's ok to criticize players. This is a discussion board. Some people don't understand that. A few people think it's their forum and what they say is always correct. I don't know what you said about amendola but most of us discuss how players have performed based on their present contribution. It's usually on point. If that player later exceeds our expectations, then great, we eat some crow and win some games:. No one can predict the future. It childish to say ,"I told you so" a few months later when someone we are disappointed in improves.

i dont think you can criticize someone until the what they do adversely affects the team.

cassius didn't work out, we used 2 draft picks.

we are currently the favorite to win the superbowl, and the defense is playing better today then it was earlier this season.

when was the last time the patriots "won" the offseason? never? im guessing never.

who gives a **** if some 5th and 7th round picks didn't pan out perfectly, so long as the guys playing in place of those picks performs.

Cooks, Burkhead, Gilmore and now even Allen are all pretty decent acquisitions. Remember, it takes time to develop in the Pats system on both sides of the ball.

BB & Co. saw Lee during the preseason when he was with the Texans, so they must see something in him. You may very well be right but I'm curious why you are so certain he will be a failure.

A little class please.

It's odd that 1970s TV is more edgy than what is on today. I was watching an old Johnny Carson bit from the late 70s and none of that would have passed without crazy controversy.

You can fantasize about rectal procedures all you like, but Marsh doesn't have the size to fill Ninko's shoes or assume the role previously held by Ninko.

You claim that Marsh is smaller, but facts say otherwise. Nink may have had more muscle, and may have appeared to be bigger, but the reality is that they were only 8 lbs difference.. Clearly you're don't have the foggiest how little 8 lbs actually is..

Marsh's issues had nothing to do with his SIZE and everything to do with HOW he played.. Try watching the games for a change.

P.S. I love how you disagree with the fact that Marsh couldn't set the edge, ran too far upfield on his rushes and over-pursued (those are HOW he played) yet, that is what all the other intelligent posters are pointing out.. YOU think your smarter than everyone and that it was just his "size". A "size" that you base of nothing more than bogus data on the Patriots website instead of combine/Pro Day numbers..

Sorry, but you can't predict that Rivers would suffer a year ending injury and he was playing extremely well. You all can't predict Hightower going down for the year..
