Maybe someone has said this but to all you Jets fans, you reap what you sow.

replay could make the case that since he clearly lost possession, with no clear evidence that he regained control, that the call has to be touchback

Disagree. The call on the field was a TD. There has to be conclusive evidence that the result of the play was not a TD to overturn the call on the field of TD. There was not (IMHO) conclusive evidence to that effect.

Yes, he conclusively fumbled before crossing the plane. But I do not see conclusive evidence that he did not recover the ball in the EZ. So the TD should have stood.

But I'll take it as partial payback for being screwed on the blown fumble-thru-the-EZ call in 2005.

Actually after hearing from the ref, whether the knee is in bounds or not is irrelevant because he didn't gain control (per rule) until after every piece of him was out of bounds.

It's amazing how much fans and the media are going to make this out like it's the most egregious call ever because if benefited the Pats It was hilarious hearing people bring up the "conclusive proof" and that it should have stood. Why the hell should a TD stand as called when there is "conclusive proof" he lost control before crossing the goal line and didn't regain complete control until he was out of bounds.

I mean it really is amazing seeing people try to act like he didn't lose possession of the ball prior to crossing the goal line.

except the video clearly shows evidence he did not have control when the plane was broken.....that clearly overrules the TD call.....and it shows the ball still moving as he went to the ground OOB in the endzone.....nothing in between that point has to be clear

The Falcons lost today. When was the last time they hung 50 on an opponent?

When was the last time they faced one of the worst defenses in NFL history?

Have any of our opponents scored 50? The Falcons are in disarray. I cannot foresee who will win however I can promise a competitive game.

We let JAG Alex smith hang 42 on us and we brought cam newton back from the dead 34 points

Qm read the transcript of correntes interview.
He said it was conclusive that he didn't "survive the ground" which is required.
You are focusing on when he gained possession corrente is saying since he didn't survive the ground possession didn't happen until he was laying on the ground out of bounds.

You mean the one that allowed just 31 points in its last 2 games?

Ya I mean he only held Mike Evans to his worst game of the season. Really don't need a guy that is capable of that playing.
gilmore blows. he looks like a chicken with his head cut off running around out there clueless. he is either lost or taking stupid penalties. and his contract sucks for the team going forward.

Next week should be a good test for this defense despite the falcons playing like crap lately. They have legit weapons.

To the Bucs and the Jets. Let's not do a victory lap about it. I'm not sure they are the worst defense in the NFL (haven't watched enough other games) but they are far down the list.

The defense is not good right now and it hasn't truly shown signs of substantial improvement. I saw the same problems today that we've seen all season.

If we keep playing poor defense we are going to get our doors blown off at some point by a good offense. After today I'm more worried about our defense than I was a few weeks ago when I was able to say "it's early, they'll get it together".

I'll happily take an average defense at this point.

Strange season, we have yet to have a ‘patriots type’ win, but at the end of the day we are 4-2.

I would sill like to see us play more 2-rb sets and get white in the game more. Brady trusts hogan but needs that slot guy that can run the quick out.

On defense we just arent getting much pressure. Not sure where we are going to get this. The retirement of ninko is having a big effect

Sure you did. Refs called defensive holding against the Pats in the Carolina game on the last drive of the game.

I meant on a DL.

These jet fans are the worst. I unfortunately have some of them on facebook, and not only are they complaining about the call but they have the audacity to claim that Kraft has them paid off and they never get any calls. I guess they have not been watching this year. We must be the most penalised team this year or close to it. I don't know why I bother with them. Time to clean out my friend list...

Not a rule anyone likes, but it was to the letter of the rule. Let’s face it, if it happened to the Pats, nobody would give a ****.
