Right clearly your whole goal here is to just be a fair fan even if it means denying the right call was made
Okay, youre right. If we're going by the letter of the law, then the right call was made. But if you or anyone else thinks thats a fair call then youre delusional. Like i said before, this isnt a pats vs. jets issue, this is an nfl issue

Literally everyone outside of delusional pats nation thinks the tuck rule was a terrible call.. theres a reason they got rid of that rule

You need to do some actual research into the Tuck Rule.

BTW - still not giving a f**k what everyone else thinks.

Please stop calling people names and insulting them. We can all disagree without getting personal and being offensive. We just had a big win, let's be happy!!!

Are you a moron?

Hey caught the ball and cut upfield, that's established possession. Which he then fumbled

As you can see here that ball is 100% completely out

For me, in watching the game, I took away that our run defense played really well, but our pass defense needs a lot of work. McGowen had 354 yards and had wide open receivers all day and converted 3rd downs all day as well. This defense needs to improve, we are giving up too many big plays.

How were people wide open and converted on 3rd down all day if we had a sequence of three 3&outs in a row ? The Jets were 9/17 on third down.

The rule changed several years after the Raiders game

It’s pretty nice to finally be able to gash nickel defenses with Thuney - Andrews - Mason & Lewis behind them. We should be able to run vs. Atlanta this year.

Does anyone have any insight as to why Bademosi got the start at CB over Jones? I figured because Jones has more experience in the system and actually played a bit at nickel corner last year that he'd be the second CB behind Butler. From the eye test, that wasn't the case today although I suppose we'll know more when the snap counts come out. Just thought it was interesting.

What worried me the most is that there were plays where we dropped 8 into coverage and the Jets still had guys wide open. That shouldn't even be possible without guys horribly blowing assignments on a routine basis.

that is the absolutely only call that would be totally 100% WRONG. Iirc from vid, Receiver ran at least three steps with the ball, he had possession. The bobble was caused by a subsequent dB arm strike. You can't call incomplete.
Absolutely right, it's either a TD or fumble.

I assume it's a size thing. Bademosi has 3 inches and about 20 pounds on Jones, so against bigger receivers Bademosi may be a better matchup even if Jones is a better corner.

I don't think it matters. If he doesn't have control as it breaks the plane it means he fumbled it into the end zone.

If he recovered it inbounds and in the end zone it would be a TD. If he recovered while out of bounds then it regardless of where the ball is it would be considered fumbling through the end zone.

I'm not saying you're wrong, I just think they didn't play great this game....that's just my opinion

It wasn't just them...it was the entire CBS studio...plus any independent observer who doesn't wear red/white/blue tinted glasses.
Some people were in fact wearing red-white-blue jerseys and pealed them off to reveal green undershirts.

It doesnt help if you have Bademosi and Jonathan Jones in coverage instead of Rowe and Gilmore. We will see where it all goes but those two brutal drives by the Jets early on seem to hang with people more than a series of three 3&outs followed by 3 turnovers.

Yeah, that's definitely true. On the Jets' first TD, a better/more experienced corner breaks that pass up at a minimum and maybe even has a play on the ball. It was pure inexperience on Jones' part that he didn't get his head around and locate the ball.

Agree run d was good.
Disagree on 3rd down. After the 1st drive the Jete were 5/13 on 3rd.
As far as receivers it should be noted that out of 31 completions (in 47 attempts) only 11 were to WRs.
4 big plays 44, 31,30, 32 are a concern but other than those he had 27 completions that only totalled 217 yards. (I think the difference between a few bigs plays or consistently not stopping anyone is pertinent to discussion)
And it happened with 2 starting corners out and a guy who hadn't played a defensive snap starting.

It's always a work in progress. I don't want them playing like this in January but this was a step in the right direction to me.

Yeah, the final score didn't represent the defense's play IMO. Last week I felt that it did, but not this week.

The defense lucked out with the touchback even if it was the right call. McGowan shredded them but his Butler INT turned the game from the Jets shockingly blowing our doors open to advantage Patriots.

The lack of pressure w/o blitzing is handicapping us BAD. QBs have an outrageous amount of time and eventually they'll make some play out of it even if the coverage is good.

That wide open 50 yard completion after the touchback and subsequent three and out was horrible. That is the type of play that has been killing us all year and after six games and ten days rest they are still making these mistakes.

The corner blitz on 4th and 12 was more than a little questionable. Once I saw the blocker pick up Butler, I knew they were going to convert.

And I am more concerned about our offense than the defense based on the last two games. One of the two is trending into the right direction compared to where they were 3 weeks ago.
