Multiple teams have expressed interest in trading for Dion Lewis

With Lewis’ shiftiness against linebackers, maybe he ends up making plays out the slot, along with White and Burkhead?

OK, let's consider this. Lewis can be the #3 slot RB after White (who is the clear #1) and Burkhead who we are paying $3M for this year's services). Clearly, Burkhead is expected to be good enough to back up Gillislie and White.

So, Lewis is inexpensive two injury insurance.

I wouldn't expect to get more than a 4th for Lewis. Unless the 4th can be sent somewhere else for a DE or LB, I don't think that such a deal is worth doing.

Dion Lewis & a low pick for Cardinals EDGE Markus Golden....unless ARZ brings back Chris Johnson..

Half-Joking...I love Dion Lewis

Edit: Nvm, they signed DJ off the PS.

Brandon Cooks says Hello.
Nonsense. As stated many times they had 60 million to spend. JE is 31 Dola 32 MM is in his 2nd year and while promising has injury concerns. Gronk is gronk.

What were they supposed to do? Wait until everyone was injured and then panic and have teams fleece them because they were desperate. Plus you want Brady to grow into his new receivers, not have to mesh with them instantly because there are no other options. And if he is playing several more years, the time to get his new wave of WRs is now.

The claim they went all in is being made be people who don't understand player/cap management. Of course it LOOKS like they went all in. Why wouldn't it with 60 mill to spend.

I love lewis, but I truly think our speed and ability to cover consistently at the LB position, could potentially be this years team's, Achilles heal. If we could use him as a trade chip for a LB that could have the potential to better the LB position, Id be okay with them taking the chance and shipping him away.

I was personally thinking it would be easier to get Deone Bucannon and a late draft pick seeing he's currently out with a bad ankle. He would basically be a big upgrade with what they're trying to do with Jordan Richards. His type of speed is what our LB core needs IMO

Why do people think the Texans want to get rid of Mercilus and would want to give him to us lol?
The same reason they'd give us their franchise player and one of the best defensive beasts in the entire league for our unproven backup QB. The people suggesting it are out of touch.

how about we play him. hes much better than james white. keep him and play him

Especially after Bill already gave away a young franchise QB to Indy.

Can we trade him to Arizona for Chandler Jones???

I am not sure that shows the Pats are going "all in". I remember I think Bedard said this offseason that he was hearing that Belichick and the coaching staff are getting increasingly disillusioned with the draft because most college systems now are not NFL friendly and a lot of players have high learning curves to get up to speed especially in a complicated system like the Pats run on both sides of the ball. Bedard also said that Belichick would rather build through free agency and trades like he did with Cooks.

Belichick just thinks he can get more return from Cooks than drafting a WR and waiting two years for him to be productive if he can learn the system at all.

That one actually concerns me a bit, if Dorsett doesn't pan out. But hey, Brissett was probably going to be cut anyway, so in the end it shouldn't matter.

If Brissett looks halfway decent in his starting role, this place will be a madhouse of "what ifs?"

It's clear Brady wasn't ready to start Thursday, Bill planned all along to start Brissett and over reacted to the Edelman injury and traded for Dorsett.

Then they should've just signed Terrelle Pryor as a UFA and kept the 1st- and 3rd-round picks.
