Man. This was clearly a PI. Nice throw by the "40 year old Brady's worn out arm" btw.

Burkhead almost made a couple of phenomenal catches last night. His timing (as well as Cooks') is just a little off with Brady right now. With more work, those catches won't have to be spectacular. They'll be able to get both hands on them.

Again, it's not always about strength. Curran interviewed Michelle Tafoya pre game and she gushed about Brady and how his acccuracy is still awesome even at his age when that is something that can go fast too.

I saw bad accuracy last night.

You saw timing with new faces that really hasn't been perfected yet and Chris Hogan's inability to get separation. Thanks for the sig, by the way.

It's just 1 game though he didn't play well. Pretty confident that the offense will bounce back though they always do.

I didn't think Brady was particularly inaccurate last night. It wasn't the most off I've seen him, though he did miss a few throws.

No problem. What we saw last night is an 8-8 team. You can chalk it up to timing. I saw him airmail Hogan. Airmail a wide open Allen. Backshoulder misfires left and right. Those are the passes that mean more to me than some completed bombs.

Go point by point in your "sig" and truthfully and factually (outside of the 8-8 hypothetical) refute them.

Do it.

Solder should've had Mitchell blocked earlier during that run.
If Mitchell is blocked, then he doesn't make the tackle; if he doesn't make the tackle, then White makes a 1st down; if he makes a 1st down, then Gillislee doesn't get stuffed on 4th down; if he doesn't get stuffed, then the Pats have as many as 4 more chances to score a TD; if they score a TD, then it's a differently-coached ballgame.

I'm not concerned with Brady's accuracy at all. He made plenty of nice throws in some tight windows last night. The completion to Gronk was really a sweet pass. Over the "robber" LB and in between two DB's. Many more like that as well.

He threw a few away.

Anyways still working through the game.

If you get out of the Patriots fan bubble, some highly regarded football writers have said this is what 40 looks like. Now, I feel it's a blip. But to dismiss is it out of hand like most around here are doing is sticking your head in the sand.

In a game like last nights, his first read should have always been Cooks. I'll bet in the All-22 people will find he could have had Cooks for a line of say 12-180 3 TDS. That's just off of replays I saw with Cooks having 2-3 steps on his man in man coverage, and the 2 misfires (one that was completed) and the post at the end that TB himself said should have been thrown better.

@KontradictioN - please keep that sig for at least a few games so we can all remember how ridiculous it was.

Yup he had a charted 11 off target passes. Smith had 2. Those numbers aren't based joint coverage, those are just those, off target.

You're salty because you went a little too far and now it's frozen in the signature of someone that literally posts all the time. Don't worry, my friend. It's just there for safe keeping. I fully plan to return to this at a later date.

Football writers read the trade winds and opine accordingly because they hardly ever face accountability for being wrong. Anytime Brady doesn't play a great game, they're going to say he's done. It's been going on for years. Nobody can make that distinction based on a single game with any degree of accuracy, it's just not possible. All we can say for sure is that he was off on some throws. It wasn't the first time that's happened.

Like him, you go through it, and refute each statement. Right now, are there holes everywhere? Yes. Did they give up like you haven't seen from a GOOD Pats team ever? Yes. Is Butler stuffling and has been struggling all preseason? Yes.

Will they go 8-8. No. That was a statement based upon if the team stays the way it is. Then I heard the comments from Brady about attitudes.

Not 8-8 but 10-6 seems like it's more in play than I thought earlier. NO will be the big tell. Play like this again, watch out. Smoke the Saints? Back to square one.

I will. Hell, there were about 10-20 gems last night that I could have added. @FoxboroFlyer was extremely embarrassing too. If you want to have a fart bubble pop out because you laugh so hard at someone's posts, go into his profile and read a few of those beauts.

Brady mentioning attitude PUBLICLY was a bit of a stunner. Wonder if it is the new guys or ****y, satisfied 2-ringers. Or both.

I'm guessing the new guys, since Solder also commented on some guys thinking all they had to do was show up and the championship was guaranteed theirs, and Bill making that odd castle-in-the-sand reference several days ago, rather explicitly threatening that the new players on the team could have it all taken away in seconds if they don't perform the way he wants. There's a really weird locker room atmosphere right now that I don't think we've seen before, and it's obvious Tom is uncomfortable with some of his offense. This team needs to get on the same page.

LOL already backtracking. Like I said, don't panic. If you're right, I'll look like an ass. Either way, we'll be sure to return to this as the weeks go on.

Go for it. I'm still waiting for your factual rebuttal. I bet Brady will be long retired by the time you do that.

I think at least part of it is that we have a lot of guys who we're suddenly relying on to play starter-type roles who in past years would be rotational guys at best. Phillip Dorsett is suddenly our WR3. Marsh is likely to be our starting MLB next week. Some combination of Guy, Wise, Grissom and Butler are being counted on to be our DE2-DE4 when last year none of them would have cracked the rotation at all. We're paper-thin at a handful of very important positions, and we have guys who this team needs to step up in a way we didn't really need guys of similar talent to step up last year. I think that creates a level of urgency that Brady's trying to amplify. These guys need to become starter-caliber players and it needs to happen quickly.

Not trying to sound like an alarmist, I still think we'll be fine and this is at worst a 10 (and more likely 12) win team. I still think we'll be in play for the #1 seed, and will win the division comfortably. It's not the end of the world, but there are some glaring holes on this roster right now and I don't think they're all going to just go away.

You already look like an ass. This won't change that one bit.
