But saying it's all about is saying it's simplistic.
There are a lot more factors involved.
Andy- I'm aware there are more factors involved.

That is almost impossible and maybe not even almost. The other option would be a "sign and trade" with Jimmy where he does a mid-range deal here under the condition Bill, Yee and others would guide him to a quality organization via trade. I'm skeptical about that one big time but it might get NE much more in trade as opposed to a 3rd rd comp pick. I dunna know....takes a lot of faith on JAGs end to hope his new team redus his deal in 2019
Sorry that's a fail.
You posted an article where she says if the patriots would take #12 she thinks they would strongly consider it.
That is not close to saying they offered it.
If you think she "stated it as a fact" you would have to show a different article because in the one she clearly says it's her unconfirmed guess.
That is almost impossible and maybe not even almost.
He is going to want up front guaranteed money. That would be charged to the patriots if they sign and. trade.
Why would he have any interest in negotiating.a contract with the patriots to be traded when he will be a free agent.
If you are going to go sign with a new team why would you be complicit in doing it in a way that your old team gets something from your new team? It's shooting your self in the foot.
No she didn't that's the point. She "reported" that if the patriots would take #12 SHE THINKS the browns would strongly consider offering it.That is not what I am answering.
I responded to a post questioning if the Browns offered anything to NE.
MKC reported the Browns offered #12
She never reported anything beyond that.
What you are saying is her conjecture which she is entitled to voice.
The only way Jimmy does that deal is it guarantees he is sent to an org he wants. Why accept less and hope you get to play if the best QB in the NFL suddenly sucks when you can go on the open market and pick your deal and have teams fight over you.If he is a free agent he can choose where he goes.
There is no reason for him to sign a contract with a team so they can trade him
Which is why he would never do itI would agree in that scenario Jimmy is leaving a lot of $$ on the table.
[quote{The other dynamic here is it might be a contract that allows him to stay in NE if TB12 goes in a death spiral.
There is just no reality in this approach.
I see what you are saying. No she didn't that's the point. She "reported" that if the patriots would take #12 SHE THINKS the browns would strongly consider offering it.
That's just not true.I see what you are saying.
She states as fact the Browns wanted Jimmy.
She also speculates that the #12 and a lower pick would be appealing to the Browns.
I think there is a source there but because she's a pro and missing additional sources she cant state it as fact.
Social media has bit more then one person in the ass. What is fascinating is when an individual calls out a population as ignorant based on speculation.
Andy you have been following football for decades. With trades and draft picks nothing is ever officially offered and on the complete record. That's just not true.
She did not "report" the browns would offer 12 alone much less more. She speculated that if that's what it took they would seriously consider it.
You are making up that there is a source because she says no such thing and if she is such a pro she could easily get confirmation if it was teal.
Instead she says if it took 12 she thinks they would consider it. She doesn't even say she thinks they would offer it.
This is not proof 12 was offered. Not even close.
This is what you saidAndy you have been following football for decades. With trades and draft picks nothing is ever officially offered and on the complete record.
If you tend to believe Schefter and his standard of reporting, it's the same thing. String instinct with one source, but cannot (or will not ever) be substantiated.
Iirc there were solid reports that the Brownies were offering #12 for Jimmy.
Correct. She reported the Browns made offers. Seems you do not believe her?
I will do nothing of the sort because of her credibility and how she structured the piece I believe her. This is what you said
You have supported this with one writer saying she thinks that if the patriots would take 12 the browns would seriously consider it.
That is neither reporting that offers were made nor solid reports that 12 was offered.
Now you pull the "of course there could never be proof of offers made because we all know that doesn't get reported".
Just admit you misremembered instead of twisting your proclamation into "There is no proof but everyone knows"
No she didn't. She said IF the patriots would take 12 she THINKS the browns would CONSIDER.I will do nothing of the sort because of her credibility and how she structured the piece I believe her.
She stated the Browns offered #12 . You don't see how she did it.
Why on God's green earth would Garoppolo even remotely consider such a thing? The other option would be a "sign and trade" with Jimmy where he does a mid-range deal here under the condition Bill, Yee and others would guide him to a quality organization via trade. I'm skeptical about that one big time but it might get NE much more in trade as opposed to a 3rd rd comp pick. I dunna know....takes a lot of faith on JAGs end to hope his new team redus his deal in 2019
So does free agency. The only way Jimmy does that deal is it guarantees he is sent to an org he wants.
I said it was a scenario. I didn't say I support it.Why on God's green earth would Garoppolo even remotely consider such a thing?
I cannot believe how many people in here think Garoppolo should sacrifice millions and millions of dollars, sacrifice the ability to be a starter, sacrifice any control over what team he goes to, and just completely lets himself get screwed royally all for the Patriots to gain a draft pick.
It's s scenario. I never said it was a good one.So does free agency.
If he signs that deal, he gives all power and control to the Patriots. Why in the world would he do that?
No she didn't. She said IF the patriots would take 12 she THINKS the browns would CONSIDER.
That. Is by no means "STATING they OFFERED it".
The Browns also tried and failed to land Jimmy Garoppolo on Thursday, but will go back at it today.
so we agree there is nothing at all saying a first round pick was ever offered.************ I know that.
To summerize, she confirmed with her sources on the record that an offer was made but the sources would not confirm what the offer was so she couched it as such.
No chance.
And Brady dropping 10% in performance is still the best QB in the NFL.
