Connor McGregor's cryptic message?

I'll laugh if McGregor starts tossing up fake leg kicks to throw Mayweather off. (Don't know if that's legal or not. )

Another thought is what if McGregor says, "Foyk it" and UFC's Mayweather's ass anyways?

Pretty sure part of the contract is that Conor strictly has to box Floyd. If he does any of the extra stuff he can say goodbye to his paycheck.

This is so pathetic. No one should watch this. It is only a money making scheme. There is no way McGregor can box Mayweather and neither care. It is all about money and robbing fans. Boycott it.

Agreed.

If you want to watch a great all out fight, wait a couple of weeks and watch GGG-Canelo.

I don't know anything about boxing so help me out here. What is going to stop MacGregor from just swarming across the ring and unloading a massive amount of power shots and KOing Mayweather a la Mike Tyson? Are Mayweather's speed and defense that good?

Can someone explain to me what's going on and why people are so upset?

That's a boxing match. Not a fight.

If you want to watch a real fight, watch MMA.

It's forbidden. He'd get sued if he does anything like that.

However, it was funny watching him joke around about it with Floyd's dad.

Yes.

Mayweather is the overwhelming favorite given his vast boxing experience, but the amount of people saying McGregor has exactly 0% chance is insane. This isn't some bum off the street - this is a professional fighter and an elite level striker. Anything can happen in a fight, and a single shot can change everything. Again, Mayweather is the overwhelming favorite, and rightfully so, but there are a few things that favor Conor.

1. Mayweather is 40; McGregor is 29.
2. Mayweather hasn't been active in 2 years
3. McGregor has a good amount of size on him - height, reach, weight, strength, power, are all on his side
4. McGregor has one shot knockout power in each hand, and impeccable timing.
5. McGregor has unorthodox movement, even in MMA. Many of his opponents have said this makes it difficult to figure him out. This is going to be an even bigger factor inside the boxing ring, since Mayweather hasn't seen anything like it, and it will take him a few rounds to figure it out and process it.
6. This last point is more of an intangible attribute, but McGregor has excelled as an underdog throughout his career, and his confidence has been unshakeable. The spotlight will certainly not get to him. Meanwhile, the pressure is all on Floyd, who is expected to dominate every single minute of every single round and to KO him. However, that's not his style, and he no longer has the hands to KO anyone, especially a bigger guy.

Nope.

Mayweather can defend this **** in his sleep. McGregor will be lucky to get two hits a round on him (and I don't mean good solid hits). Mayweather won't knock him out though. I expect a typical mayweather fight: long, boring, technically perfect that most people will not even understand how well he just did after he wins.

You are right he is older so won't be as good as he used to be but no way he loses this. You are also right it isn't 0 percent chance of losing, but really close.

I'm telling people to enjoy the hype because the fight is going to be a lot more boring.

Even if Mayweather has lost 2 steps in the last 3 years of inactivity, and his reaction time is 75% of what it was, it's still more than enough to embarrass McGregor in the ring. McGregor's never fought anyone in Mayweather's universe, never mind boxed against one.

While Mayweather doesn't have knockout power, I expect McGregor to be completely dead by the 7th or 8th round, and could go down from something sneaky.

And I say that as someone who thinks Mayweather is a woman-beating piece of **** who should be in jail.

It's boxing, not MMA MacGregor has about the same chance of beating Mayweather as the best Red Sox team beating the the worst Patriots team in a football game.

If the fix isn't in. Maywwather wins easily. If.

I'm just as skeptical as you are about it. Lots of money at hand with a known gambler as one of the participants, and a very one sided betting line.

Floyd can defend against traditional boxers in his sleep. I'll be very interested to see how Mayweather deals with someone who will be constantly switching between a taekwondo stance, a muay thai stance, capoeira, a traditional boxing stance, and greco roman wrestling stance, with shots coming from angles he's never seen before. The most unique and unorthodox opponent he's ever had (Maidana) also happened to be the one that caused him a lot of trouble. He'll also have someone much bigger than him constantly wearing him down in the clinch.

I remember when Eddie Bravo, a brown belt, submitted Royler Gracie, a 7th degree black belt, despite the fact Gracie was a legend and had over 20 years of jiu jitsu experience over Eddie. Although not as publicized, literally no one gave him a chance. That's why it's absolutely insane to count anyone out in a fight.

He has obviously never straight boxed anyone on Mayweather's level, but this comment makes it seem as if you're saying he's never fought anyone on Mayweather's level even in MMA - which is an incredibly silly thing to say. Literally every single one of his MMA opponents, without any exceptions whatsoever, could not only beat Mayweather in a straight fight, but would do so to within an inch of his life. One of his victories came over a guy who was defeated only once in his career at the time, and was the #1 pound for pound fighter in the promotion, coming off a 10 year win streak. Not that this victory will translate into the boxing ring, but just thought I'd correct your erroneous statement.

It's not a cage fight. It's a boxing match.

If I was a millionaire would not pay for this fight..

Will wait for the free highlights on youtube on August 27th or 28th.. it will be a ton of ******** and hype prior to the fight.

A whole lot of publicity for a "fight" that will take place in 40 days..
