I can't believe how confident I am in the Pats chances going into the 2017 season, but it is a very quiet confidence.

We have experienced unrivaled success in the Brady/Belichick era, and we have also experienced unrivaled persecution by NFL* management as they try and keep the Pats from continuing to dominate.

Given all of that, I am feeling like something changed when the Pats came back against Atlanta. It feels like a paradigm shift of some kind, and the Pats and their fans have changed in a way that I can't put my finger on.

Is it that the NFL* gave it their best shot to kill the beast, and they failed, and now the beast is just going to do whatever the hell it feels like?

I don't ever want to go into a season overconfident, but this just feels so preordained this year. The Pats are just a cut above the rest of the league in every way.

Disheartening to hear that Augusta is still dealing with conditioning issues. I had hoped after his thyroid diagnosis and subsequent medication that he would get everything under control, but he has already dropped 60+ pounds, so I guess I should give him the benefit of the doubt. Not many players with his size and athleticism, if he can put it all together.

Patriots = Golden State Warriors
of NFL just hand them the Trophy already.

I hope someone can step up and take that 3rd corner spot, right now it's a little bit of a worry..

They worked a few people through that spot this weekend. I took that as they think they have 3+ guys who could fill the role and they are getting all ready to compete for it.

Personally I'm not surprised to see Foster's good mini-camp. The Pats have an incredible embarassment of riches at that 3rd down RB position. They now have White, Lewis, and Foster as true 3rd down back, as well as Burkhead and Gillislee who would be deemed acceptable pass catching RB's on most teams.

Given the depth we have at WR, especially with Lucien and all the quality UDFA's, who I guess have shown pretty well in the shorts and T-shirts portion of the season that we ALSO have, there is no chance we get to keep them all

There are 31 other teams that will be circling the Pats like rabid sharks on cut day. Evidently we lost a good one last season in LaBlanc, and then traded Derby. I expect this season's TC to end in a min-blood bath of talent exiting the Pats for other teams

Seems like there is tremendous proven depth in so many areas, EXCEPT at edge rusher. The Pats don't necessarily suck there, but compared to the rest of the team, it is the position that holds the most question marks....at least for me.

So this is going to be one of those preseasons where we wish the roster would expand to 65, isn't it?

Curious why in the world you'd disagree with this, MG?

QB - 3
RB - Lewis, White, Bolden, Burkhead, Gillislee, Foster
WR - Amendola, Edelman, Cooks, Hogan, Mitchell, Hawkins, Lucien...
CB - Jones, Jones, Rowe, Butler, Gilmore, Coleman, couple of rookies...

My feeling is that some fo the guys the Pats cut will have very good NFL careers/seasons, like Leblanc last year.

You don't agree with that?
