Bill Polian: Pats are not that good

Just to add to the comedy: that was in response to a question about whether or not the Bills could compete with the Pats in 2017.

A question that he completely ducked.

That blowhard put some of our teams together. And rode Matt Cassell to the playoffs.

I know we have this fantasy in this region that everyone who leaves our teams, for whatever reason it may be, must be and retroactively always have been a bum with no brains, but Polian was a very smart manager, not least because he listened to Belichick.

Pioli ≠ Polian :)

Well, the entire quote was ...

"They are a great team. They are not as great as people think they are. They're not invincible. What they are is exceptionally well-constructed and exceptionally well-coached."

Thus proving once again that any remark can be quoted out of context to make it seem worse than it was for the purpose of getting re-tweets.

Also, please note that Polian said this in response to a question about whether or not the Bills could compete with the Pats in 2017 - instead of simply laughing his ass off, like he probably wanted to do.

Huh? When was Bill Polian ever in charge of putting our roster together?

I'm assuming that's sarcasm. Yet a large number of people who read that tweet won't get the sarcasm
Yeah, that was Florio (deservedly) dissing Polian.

I was wondering the same thing.

Nobody is making the argument that the Patriots are "invincible" because that's absurd but Polian claims that fans believe it. He's just trollin'

Ahhhh so he's sticking up for his old team.

Buffalo's not even going to compete with Miami for second in the division let alone even come close to us.

"They're not that good............and if I could still change the rules I'd do everything in my power to prove it!"

WTF are you smoking?

I love it. Let them all keep thinking that. The Pats won't get caught up in it, they'll just keep doing what they do.

Its amazing how much time people have spent over the years trying to explain how the Pats aren't as good as people think.

You would think after almost 2 decades of excellence, they would get tired of being wrong.

Guess not. I hope every iota of greatness for New England eats at Polian's soul with the hunger of one hundred thousand fire ants.

Yeah because when the D sees Edelman, Gronk, Hogan, Lewis and Cooks on the field at the same time they'll know exactly how to defend it.....

And on O passing against the 2ndary of Gilmore, Butler, DMC and Chung will be a piece of cake.

I think the Pats are actually underrated....if that is even possible

How the hell did he get in the hall of fame ?
Well the first check box is if they played/worked for the Steelers or Colts.

This is probably gonna get me flamed but take the whole quote in context and I actually agree with him. *takes a bath in bleach yuck ick blah!* the patriots are very good and on paper the best team in the league what they are not is Alabama taking on Appalachian State every week. I doubt we will see many 50-0 blowouts where they impose the mercy rule by the 3rd quarter. They don't have 15 All pro's and it's not the top end talent on the roster that is impressive. The patriots look so damn good because they are unbelievably deep. I feel that our 2nd string could give the bottom 10 teams starters a run for their money. When a guy like Mitchell is your 4th receiver or Rowe and Harmon coming off the bench holy crap it's not normal to have legit starting guys that low on the depth chart.

All of that said I guess my point is all it takes is an off week or one of the playoff teams playing really well for the pats to lose a game. They are not SO much more talented then the other teams that they can just show up. What they are better at then anyone else is if an injury hits they can fill in without missing a beat and as we have seen Super Bowl winners tend to be the healthest team left in the tournament so I like their chances. A lot.
