My son bought me a copy of the Brady & Belichick book & after reading it last week on a cruise ship in the Caribbean, all I can say is save your money.

Unless you have been in a coma since 2000, you won't learn anything from reading this book.

Holly had no problem taking shots at Borges & Shaunessy for a lot of their stupid comments over the years, but he went out of his way to protect John Tomase.

He listed the exact comments made by Borges & Shaunessy, but multiple times when he referred to the report prior to the 2007 Super Bowl about the false unproven claim that the Patriots videotaped the Rams practice, he only mentioned the Boston Herald.
Why didn't he mention Tomase?

All & all the book was boring !

I've heard good things about the book.

Different strokes...I couldn't put it down. Loved it.

There was very little new there. A good synopsis, though.

IIRC alot of it was remedial especially for this audience. People like Fauria and others shared some pretty cool stories . That was worth the $9.95 on Amazon.

It sucked.
Really disappointing, especially because I like Holley.
Patsfans readers know far more than Holley reports. Pissed me off with the important details left out.
I gave up half way through.

Pretty much how I felt, except I gave up on it much earlier. I read about a quarter of it and never looked at it again.

I do hope he writes a new chapter detailing this past season. Seems really incomplete without one of, if not the, greatest season in Pats history.

I agree, but the way this team continues to improve itself, I'd wait a few more years to get all of the Brady rings in one revision!

The Education of a Coach was great because it went in depth into belichick's upbringing and relationship with his father as well as his rise in the coaching ranks in various systems and teams. halberstam had a lot of one-on-one conversations with belichick, and it was apparent. plus he's a great writer.

Patriot Reign was good because holley was embedded in the patriots organization for two whole years (during the 2002 and 2003 seasons). he had unprecedented access to meetings, practices, coaches, and players, so it was a great behind-the-scenes look at how the patriots work and focused on a relatively short period of time.

on the other hand, Brady and Belichick tries to cover the 15 or so years of their relationship, but as far as i could tell he wasn't given any kind of special access to either of them while writing the book. so he has to resort to interviews with other players, coaches, and executives and also ends up using a lot of secondary sources. at times it seems like he's just churning out game recaps or summarizing articles by other people. holley didn't really provide any special insight into the brady-belichick relationship, so in that sense it was disappointing.

I used the two free credits I got from Amazon Audible on Brady vs Manning book by Gary Myers & Belichick and Brady by Michael Holley. I enjoyed Brady vs Manning a lot more.

Interesting, I got Brady vs Manning for Christmas a year ago and had trouble reading it. Never finished it. I know I was influenced by Myers's dislike of Belichick and his repeated description of him as a known cheater.

Probably would work great for a 5th grade book report.
Depends on your kid. My daughter did a sixth grade book report on Stephen Hawkings' A Brief History of Time, so for her maybe second or third grade?

I totally agree with you I read it and was very disappointed.. I could have wrote this book. It was so damn boring, I think there 1 or 2 things in the whole book that I didn't know and it was completely worthless information. It was like a book for a 5th grader, absolutely fraudulent cash in.

I was just kidding, but it's funny that you mention it because my kid used that same book for her 3rd grade book report and is doing her 4th grade one on Tolstoy's, "War & Peace". She will complete her 1st doctorate degree by 6th grade.

Kids these days.
