Aaron Hernandez Dead

At least he did it in the offseason.

Does this mean his hit to our cap space is gone now? If so maybe he did it to free up cap space so we can sign Butler.

Sorry for the gallows humor but I don't have a lot of sympathy for this guy.

Even in death, this guy's a selfish f*ck. The day that the Pats visit the WH and it's his mug that's plastered all over the airwaves.

Didn't even think of that. I wonder if he did.

Time for some way too soon dark comedy. Anyone wanna play a game of hang man?

A A _ O _ .... H E _ _ A _ D E _ to make it easier i spotted you the vowels and threw in a few letters too.

im not making up anything. stop trying to play message board gotcha and try having a conversation. im not making up any rules. you are angry at your dad and directing your anger at me. and its really weird.
Finally some levity!

Seriously, have a wonderful day. It looks to be a pretty eventful one.

This popped up on my Facebook feed moments ago, actually. I guess it's not too soon. Haha.

There's no words to describe this tragedy. It's a Lose-Lose for all involved, deceased and ones living directly involved with this. Some might say he took an easy way out but he had an easy way out, too bad he didn't realize his talent that could have helped people as opposed to destroying them.

My prayers go out to his family, and to Aaron as well. Yes I prayed for his soul as well. We're all sinners, and he seems to have lost his battles with demons.
Suicide is never the answer and it's always sad when a life ends that way, no matter who they were. Suicide is never the plan, and I'm sure Aaron carried his pain with him everywhere.
Not making excuses for him, we all make our own choices, but we don't know his mind.

Yeah I saw that on reddit just as i was doing the same post. I thought "damn someone beat me to the idea" but decided to post it anyway I did improve it though. Before I was just going to do _ _ _ _ _ /_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ and keep it all black but adding the letters was really smart of them.

Just heard an attorney call into a local sports radio show here in Houston that this will allow Hernandez's remaining estate persevered for his daughter and not up for a civil suit.

If that's the case, maybe this is why he did it.

Finally I enjoy reading Mike Reiss's articles on the New England Patriots Blog again but I still wish he didn't sign a contract with BSPN....

I really got tired of the daily Hernandez news on there (he's not on the freakin team) and boycotted the site. Anyway I never go to TMZESPN for anything besides fantasy football for the leagues that won't jump to Yahoo.

Egh, dunno how to sort out how I feel about this. On one hand, I wanna say **** him and nothing of value was lost. OTOH, this really puts a cap on how senselessly violent and tragic this whole series of events was. Nobody gained anything; everybody involved was worse off for it and a lot of lives ended senselessly and violently. Fitting end to it all I guess.

My father was an abusive cop. He beat my mother and hated his kids. He left when I was 4.

Pay attention here: I was much better off without him. This is not debatable. It didn't leave some unfillable hole in my life, it mitigated the damage he could do. I merely used my own experience to learn how to be a good father to my kids.

So, as Kon keeps pointing out, stop projecting your own individual experience as some sort of rule.

Side note: dude's getting way up there in years, and he's apparently trying to get back on good terms with my sister (and eventually me, I'd imagine). Believe me, that **** ain't happening.

Yeah, I was born to, and for a time raised by, an abusive scumbag. My life took a dramatic turn for the better when that influence was removed from my life. Good parent > decent parent > no parent > terrible parent.

It's not a bleeding heart liberal thing. Many states have this kind of rule, as does the federal government.

Yeah, it feels icky on the surface, but it ultimately makes some sense.

Just because other states do it means its right.

It's an insult to the legal system and the families.

He was convicted of murder. Case closed

No, I haven't read the 12 pages of messages for mine (so apologies if this has already been discussed) but I'm shocked at how much national coverage this is getting.

I turned Sportscenter on this morning and all they did was talk about Aaron Hernandez for the 25 minutes that I had it on. I was shocked. Sure, mention it, but dedicate the show to it? Especially when NBA and NHL playoffs are ongoing. As far as I was concerned Aaron Hernandez was dead to the sports world years ago.

Yeah, it's a consistent end to a tragic story all around, but I'm surprised too in the same way, for the same reason. I think a lot of us dove deeper on this story than most as it was happening, for a lot of the same reasons why we post here regularly in the first place. Because we're diehard Pats fans and we like to talk about and immerse ourselves in all things Pats-related. So I guess maybe we dove deeper into this stuff, and as a result maybe we put it all behind us and moved on from it faster than most people? I know the casual fans in my life seemed to be intrigued and interested in talking about the Hernandez case long after I stopped giving it a second thought.
