Aaron Hernandez Dead

That's my point.

Why stick around and waste all remaining family money on second trial if you already got life?

I feel nothing for this guy but it makes no sense to me

I'm pretty sure Hernandez's lawyer in the double murder trial was doing it pro-bono. He's a grandstanding lawyer who got Casey Anthony off of her murder charge.

Pretty bummed out for his 5 year old daughter, her Dad was locked away for life, and now he is gone forever. Hope she has a good life, and is not as messed up by this as AH was by his father dying. As someone who had a parent die when I was a little kid, it can ruin your whole life, or it cannot.....

All indications released show this as a suicide, conspiracy theorists notwithstanding.
Hanged in his cell, with the cell door jammed from inside with articles from his cell. If it was forced, there would surely be marks on him.

It is odd, coming after a minor triumph in beating the double murder. Maybe it was confronting his family members in court, but presumably there would have been occasional visits.

I hope this somehow relieves some of the frustration and anger the families of his victims feel following the most recent trial.
Yep. Not unreasonable at all to wonder given the timing, but seems like suicide.

Tragic in many ways. From a Pats fan perspective, which is why we're all here, it will be a relief not to have to hear about this man for the rest of my life, as seemed likely before.

Thanks for asking, One-Be-Lo.

Human being has immense capacity of understanding and compassion. Yet most of the time he's using very little of it.

He was a living being and a fellow human.

Not sure this board/thread is the best place for this thoughts so Ill keep them short.
He was a living being and a fellow human, until he willfully decided to become a murderer.

Dislike all you want, no compassion for murderers.

There was the hope through all of this that AH would come to a realization of what he had wrought through his actions and try to find a way to redeem himself. Probably not a lot he could have done, but I would have wanted to see him sowing positivity into his surroundings instead of all the heinous stuff he had done in the past.

The question was (no longer relevant, though) whether there was any compassion within AH that could have been tapped. He is gone now and his life will serve as a cautionary tale rather than an inspiration that you can turn things around. Would have taken a lot for him to do that, but he didn't have to be a POS all his life.

I don't know... it wouldn't be the first time a "suicide" in prison turned out to be something different. Things happen and it's easy to make enemies there even before you get there. Being in a gang I'd imagine it's not hard to do. Not saying I believe any conspiracy theory just that it wouldn't surprise me.

So how many guards were involved in this fictitious suicide? The cell was jammed from the inside. If 1 guard was involved he violated protocol by seeing an inmate hanging and opening the cell door without alerting the other guards. That's how guards get killed. An inmate fakes being hurt or hung, guard opens door all by himself. So more likely 4 or 5 guards came to the cell before they attempted to open the jammed door. Having 4 or 5 guards in on this conspiracy is unlikely. At least that's what common sense says....but hey...maybe 1 guy came in through a tunnel and staged the whole thing??

Odd timing to be sure. He just beat the second rap and his lawyer was already making moves to try and get him a new trail.

BUT, he was alone in his cell, and tried to block his cell door from the inside (I'm guessing to delay anyone from cutting him down). So as much as I would like to believe in conspiracy theories, it does seem that he took his own life.

Sad ending to what could have been a great life.

I wouldn't rule out that possibility, he could of been killed and its a cover up maybe a hit out on em maybe the guards hanged him for some reason maybe it was a suicide, shady things go down behind the wall.

Sad sad day for everyone, families of the ones he killed, and for his family sad day with a son and brother dead. Wasted talent couldn't get himself away from the gang culture he knew and loved which led to his downfall. Bad day for everyone involved with the families etc.

Just a killer. He was just convicted of the one murder. He was likely complicit in the other murders but it wasn't proven in court. Let's try to be honest.

OJ was found innocent, was he guilty?

Casey Anthony was found innocent, was she guilty?

I believe completely in the concept of beyond a reasonable doubt for conviction, but that doesn't mean I believe everyone exonerated is innocent. I believe Hernandez shot these two men, they just couldn't prove it beyond a reasonable doubt. Maybe had Odin Lloyd not been murdered they could have. But that's just my opinion, you're welcome to yours.

I have a feeling that bringing his daughter to court last week probably wasn't the best idea. He was visibly shook, and continued to turn around many times to try and see her. I have no idea, but it may have been a harsh reminder of the reality he was facing, and could have stirred up some deep emotions. We'll likely get more info in the coming days/weeks.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. They showed him in court waving and smiling at his daughter, maybe she was the one thing that made him realize just how badly f'ed up his life and the lives of the people he cared about

Then again, he was a complete sociopath, its probably a waste of time trying to figure out what was going on in that twisted head

Mike Greenberg on ESPN2 now questioning whether the Patriots will cancel their White House visit....

No reason for them to do that.

I don't get that all. If the Patriots cancelled their trip, it would indicate that they're sympathetic to Hernandez. He was a convicted cold-blooded murderer

Wow. AH's story is a tragedy in every way.

Also wouldn't surprise me if this was not a "suicide"...

Well according to the press release he attempted to barricade himself into his cell. He was in a single cell as well.

Greenberg (jet fan) is delusional. Not a chance in hell the white house trip is cancelled.

I disagree with the idea of him being placed in general population so soon after the trial, but I'm certainly not siding with the serial killer. I just think that precautions should be taken to try to avoid situations like this. Perhaps a period of a month or so while the inmate gets used to their sentence/situation, despite the verdict? Probably unreleastic, though.

I am retired from RI Corrections, and am surprised that he was not in a more visible cell or on close watch after his most recent trial.. but that is being said without knowing the actual layout of Souza-Baronowski(sp), its procedures and what section he was in..

We do not know right now if he was or was not on watch or if someone screwed up.. there will be a lot of "answers" that will come out in the future...

A guy like AH is not so much a hero in prison, but more of a "trophy"..
