My bad, and apologies. In all honesty though I was unaware of my poor posting format.

Joke's on you I meant it all along!

The buzz around Jason McCourty sorta died away...any clue on whether the Pats have reached out to him?

Figured he would've at least made a visit by now

My guess? He's been waiting to see how the draft shakes out, and he'll look to find a team that can use his services. I believe he's also had some injuries, so perhaps he'll take some time to rehab and catch on with a team in training camp after injuries take their toll.

DMac was on QuickSlants for a short interview with Phil Perry and it sounded like JMac's next steps will take a bit. It is no surprise that nothing happened so far.

With Butler still on the team there's really not a fit. Gilmore, Butler, Rowe will get most of the time and JMac will want to play. If Butler gets traded (still possible I imagine) then I would think the interest would be there.

I figure Jason will probably wait a bit for some team to need some CB help.

I think this will ultimately depend on how Jason sees his career playing out. If he feels that he only has 2-3 years left in the NFL then I agree with your conclusion.

If however he thinks that he has 4-5 years left, then his best bet is to sign a 1 year contract with the Pats, win a starting job and then cash out with the next team...seems to have worker for Revis.

Jason McCourty isnt Revis and I dont think he wants to go to a team where he has to compete to potentially be at best the 3rd corner.

There's got to be a bit more to this situation than meets the eye. There are teams out there who would love to have a vet CB (Dallas, Pittsburgh, etc) while their younger draft picks get adjusted (or not).

Jason McCourty has missed 14 games in the past two years. Judging by his brother's comments, they seem to be prepared for this to go into the summer. I wonder if he's still trying to return to health, and/or his financial expectations aren't the same as what teams are offering. Or...he could just be a dime a dozen mediocre CB who's been overrated on this forum.

Unless something happens to Butler/Gilmore, McCourty's not winning a starting job. He'd be competing for CB3-CB5

how do you know he won't end up out performing the other guys and take the top spot?

This is the patriots, not the jets. the best players play, regardless of contract.
