I agree. I don't blame him for making the choice he did but a guy with real competitive fire would have tried to play 1 more year. However if he had that he may have been more successful in his career too.
With the exception of Eli, who'll end up in the HOF because of two playoff runs with a horseshoe up his ass, the QB HOFers of the "2000's" are pretty easy to see, and Romo's not one of them. Favre and Warner are already in, so where you slot them, in terms of era, doesn't matter.
Brady
Peyton
Rodgers
Brees
Roethlisberger
After that, it's the dropoff, and either Rivers or McNabb would be next in line.
Disagree. His body has long told him he's done. He has decades left. Don't live a life of pain for measly millions. Nowhere near worth it.
NBA standards of hall of fame (T-Mac just made it..), probably. NFL naaaaaaaah....didn't have the longevity. Not even close
Agreed. Plus, I doubt if he will have to apply for food stamps with his new network job.

Nice list.
I would be interested in your analysis in putting Brees in front of Roethlisberger. I personally like Brees much more. However, without doing any analysis, it seems to me from memory that Big Ben did more with less. I guess I'm thinking of all of those years where he was running for his life behind a lousy offensive line and somehow still being productive. And, it is hard to forget the way he pulled a rabbit out of the hat in his second Super Bowl win.
QUARTERBACKS (7): Drew Bledsoe, Randall Cunningham, Doug Flutie, Donovan McNabb, Steve McNair, Phil Simms, *Kurt Warner
Raiders are the only team with a shred of hope, since they have a legit big time QB.
Gotta strongly disagree with that.Agree with most but big time is quite a stretch. You know who Carr is? Jake Delhomme. He isn't accurate enough to be a big time QB. I like him a lot, but he isn't big time.
I just hope he better than Simms. Hard to be worse.

Yea he does suckDan Fouts says "Hi"!
What are you defining as big time? Top 3 with Rodgers and Brady?Wow. You got tickets booked for Carr's HoF enshrinement already ?
Lets see if he can actually show consistency to play at a high level before calling him a legit big time QB.

I think Carr is a top 10 QB easily, sure. I don't see that being a very bold statement. What has the guy done wrong so far? He's only gotten better every year. No one is coronating him for ****.
Two is a lot? My superlatives weren't the point.I mean what else than top tier could "legit big time" mean ? How many more superlatives can you add in there ?
Be aware though that Tony Gonzalez (CBS Pregame) is not returning. If he goes to CBS and replaces Simms, that eliminates the forehead from getting that job.
