I woke up to a feed on my phone stating Nikon and Sony merged. Sony makes Nikon sensors and Nikon recently laid off tens of thousands of employees. It damn near gave me a panic attack before I realized what day it is.

It was very well done. You'd have to be in shock not to realize it was a joke after a while, but that makes it funnier IMO.

I saw what was [according to a youtube list] the greatest April Fool's joke. TV news on channel seven announced that vibrations from mt st helens in Washington state had caused Big blue in Milton to erupt. They showed a mountain erupting and clips of the gov and pres seeming to give emergency instructions. I knew it was fake and hilarious, but some people called the police and started running for their lives.

It only has to be believable enough to hook some people in.

I'm glad others found humor in it. I've had a rough last few days, finding

out that a good friend of mine was killed in a snowmobile accident in NH, and

trying to muster up the strength to make it to the wake tomorrow. In times

like this I am very glad to have these online communities, as they often make

me feel less isolated.
