All quiet on Hightower front or Dont'a-do-it FA tour

Having no OL, run game, QB, receivers, and secondary seems to be a slightly bigger problem but by all means try to fix ILB. If getting back to Nashville by the first week of January is High's primary objective then signing with the jets is definitely the way to achieve it.

Oline actually isn't that bad. Could use a stud LT, but the other 4 spots and even some depth is pretty good right now.

Run game? See oline, and Powell/Forte is decent. Don't forget the potential of Fournette at #6 either.

QB? Eh, it is what it is. It's not being fixed via FA now anyway. Nothing ya can do.

WRs? Good youth. Decker is a quality option if healthy. But yeah we're missing a true #1.

Secondary? Two young CBs. Skrine in the slot. Gilchrist and Pryor at Safety. Yeah definitely weak here as of now. Gonna be a rough season developing this unit.

But hey, if there weren't problems, we wouldn't be rebuilding.

So you think they should sign Hightower to help them lose at least 14 games?

It's an admirable goal, I'll give you that, but I think he'd ruin your dream. The jets will win at least 4-5 with Hightower,

Unless Hightower wants to follow Mevis's retirement plan.

This doesn't really help the Jets. It's not like they are legitimately competing for the division. They are a bottom feeder team in rebuild mode. All it really does is hurt the Patriots a bit.

HT is making a mistake if he goes to the NYJ. A crap team where he'll likely fade away. If not NE he should choose Tennessee, an up and comer. He'll get paid, but probably not much more than he already would get from the Pats.

I'm annoyed at the thought of LB situation, but HT and the Jets are no threat.

It helps the jets because they are going to drive Belichick's price tag up, it's going to go from 10.5 up to 10.5.

Just like the Browns with 100 million in cap space, who wanted to go there? No one. Who in their right mind would go to the Jets?

Have ya seen our QB depth chart?

You have to admit that getting to go home five weeks early every season is a big plus.

The Jets are going to pay Revis 6 million to sit at home next season. That's one hell of a retirement package.

As of right now you are staring 2-14 in the face.

Quarterback- no
WR- no
RB- meh
O-line- meh
D-line- Meh
LB- no
DBs- no
Coach- meh
GM- ugh

Sorry man but right now you are the 1992 New England Patriots

I hope you're right about 2-14. But really disagree with many of your evaluations.

WR looks very good. A lot of solid youth on top of established Decker and Enunwa. Not great mind you, as we're now lacking a true #1, but not horrible.

Dline? Really? For a 3-4, it doesn't get much better.

LB? I'm pretty psyched about our LB corps now. Plus, I'm not sure if you heard, there's the potential to bring in a top FA.

Hmm, what do the rats have for cap space? The last i heard they might be able to afford a gater aid cooler and a bag of balls

Jamie Collins

I expect them to go after Zach Brown once they wrap Hightower up. They have the Bills in their sights.

And that just goes to show how just how dysfunctional the coaching and GM situation has been in Buffalo. They have so much talent on the team yet can't go anywhere, partly due to Tire Rod but partly due to being unable to coach up and use that talent properly. The last two offseasons the Pats have already poached Hogan and Gilmore, imagine Brown and Gillislee as another 5th round RFA who meets the Pats typical big-back size profile. Just crazy.

Adding Hightower is so very Jets. A) you'd be bringing in a player who either went there for a) money or b) working extremely hard to win drove you to a loser team. Either way, not the player you want.

Also, it is probably good for a few extra wins and the Jets will be 6-10, 7-9, which is near smacked dab in not sucking enough vs no chance at actually winning or getting higher in the draft.

if revis signs a deal 6 mil a year, jets are off the hook in deal, if he takes less jets still pay right?

Jamie Collins

Nice try. He got traded there. Made him an offer he couldn't have refused. Where did Terrelle Pryor go? What somewhat decent FA signed with the a Browns?

Not as smart as you think you are.

Cue the salty patriot fans who can't accept Hightower picking the Jets.

I won't like it if he leaves buy it is what it is if he does.

He signed a 4 year contract when he could have left. That means he wants to be there.

The OG from cincy went there. Kenny Britt went there. To name a few.

Perhaps you are right and I am not as smart as I think I am but I'm a hell of a lot smarter than either you or I think you are.

Screw it let him go rot with the the rats. He's not frekin Mike Singletary to sit wait on and bid for.

Lol. Someone from Cincy and Keny Britt. Lol. You are precious. You really are.

Don't stop being you.
