Josh must be giddy with all the different offensive pairings he can put out there 2 rb sets, 2 tight end sets, go 5 wide receivers if you want.

What is good about this move too is it is almost gronk and edelman insurance in that you can afford to take it easy on those guys during the season with the depth and number of targets we have.

Which with edelmans age and gronks injury history is a good idea to limit the hits those guys take

I wonder if goodell slept last night. Bill is giving him a giant middle finger

I woke up to this this morning. A better start to the day than jerking off in the shower, it has to be said!`

I'll look forward to reminding you about how you questioned the price of the trade as the Pats are lighting up the scoreboard next season.
You won't need to remind of anything, I know he's a talent.

There is no question the Pat-haters in ownership and 345 Park Ave are doing a collective head shake

Brandin Cooks A Historically Great Receiver At Age 23

Cook's accomplishments through age 23 are almost unmatched in history, even among the all-time receiving greats.

Here are Cook’s career receiving stats:

Brandin Cooks
215 receptions, 2,861 yards, 20 TDs

And here are the receiving stats of the top 15 receivers in NFL history through their age 23 seasons:

Marvin Harrison
0 receptions

Reggie Wayne
27 receptions, 345 yards, 0 TDs

Terrell Owens
35 receptions, 520 yards, 4 TDs

Tim Brown
44 receptions, 733 yards, 5 TDs

Cris Carter
44 receptions, 845 yards, 8 TDs

Henry Ellard
50 receptions, 890 yards, 6 TDs

Jerry Rice
49 receptions, 927 yards, 3 TDs

Steve Smith
64 receptions, 1,026 yards, 3 TDs

Anquan Boldin
101 receptions, 1,377 yards, 8 TDs

James Lofton
100 receptions, 1,786 yards, 10 TDs

Tony Gonzalez (tight end)
168 receptions, 1,838 yards, 15 TDs

Isaac Bruce
140 receptions, 2,053 yards, 16 TDs

Andre Johnson
145 receptions, 2,118 yards, 10 TDs

Larry Fitzgerald
230 receptions, 3,135 yards, 24 TDs

Randy Moss
226 receptions, 4,163 yards, 43 TDs

Of that group, only Larry Fitzgerald and Randy Moss had more receptions, yards and touchdowns. That’s it.

Expanding the group to add some more Hall of Famers who lie outside the top 15 in all-time receiving yards:

Charlie Joyner
35 receptions, 493 yards, 3 TDs

John Stallworth
36 receptions, 692 yards, 5 TDs

Art Monk
58 receptions, 797 yards, 3 TDs

Michael Irvin
58 receptions, 1,032 yards, 7 TDs

Steve Largent
87 receptions, 1,348 yards, 14 TDs

Lance Alworth
71 receptions, 1,431 yards, 14 TDs

Andre Reed
158 receptions, 2,128 yards, 16 TDs

Andre Reed comes the closest to Cooks, but still, none compare.

This is not to suggest that Cooks at age 23 is on a surefire path to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He merely has quite the head start. And his best years still lie ahead.
Randy Moss really was a freak.

I don't hate what they gave up, and I'm real excited for Cooks. Mentioned in multiple threads I think he's the 11th or 12th best receiver in the league, and he's the youngest of the top 20 who isn't Mike Evans or Amari Cooper. Weird that their first pick is at the top of the 3rd, but Garoppolo is still in play. Or maybe not. I'm probably still on Team Keep Jimmy.
This was good move by BB, you will see

Because as smart football persons realize in today's NFL, if you can have man beaters at near every position plus an elite QB you are much better of. Cooks, Gronk, Edeleman plus what Mitchell is turning into and who do you double? Does Brady get picked in the SB if it's Cooks running a route versus Amendola? Too much respect is needed for Cooks to jump that route.

It so short sighted. It isn't about "taking the top off the defense". It's about putting as much stress on the secondary that it easily cracks and collapses.

Also, if you are lamenting never seeing what Floyd could do here over Cooks, then there really isn't much left to say.

It wouldn't have mattered if Cooks was running the route, Brady was going to be picked because it was a bad throw. Thinking otherwise means you weren't paying attention to the play.

I'll look forward to reminding you about how you questioned the price of the trade as the Pats are lighting up the scoreboard next season.

Hopefully, our OPPONENTS won't also.

May I remind you that that was the problem for the team he's coming from.

Let's all hope more of BB rubs off on Sean Payton and not the other way around.

Great, we have Cooks. Now let's re-sign Hightower and Butler and try to find some LBs in the draft, go 19-0 and finally put that puppy to bed. What else is there to do?

Edelman and Amendola go down, which is not out of the realm of possibility, and it becomes a huge need. Further, Belichick saw what a legit threat to take the top off did for this offense last season. It propelled the offense to a title. He figured he'd add more firepower. I'll look forward to reminding you about how you questioned the price of the trade as the Pats are lighting up the scoreboard next season.

Any team that losing 2 of it's top 4 WRs is going to have WR become a "huge need". Pretending otherwise is just fooling yourself.

Bill must really see something special in this kid to give up that kind of capital for a wide receiver. He never does that. In bill we trust

Introducing Brandin Cooks

Is this guy any good?

Here is a good article highlighting just how good he has been in the last two years:
Brandin Cooks A Historically Great Receiver At Age 23

The 20th overall pick in the 2014 draft, Cooks ran the second-fastest 40-yard dash at the 2014 Scouting Combine. Though undersized, he’s shown no trouble whatsoever in succeeding at the NFL level, as evidenced by his back-to-back 1,100-plus-yard seasons in 2015 and 2016.

Only Randy Moss and Larry Fitzgerald started off better. The guy is only 23.

Here is his highlight reel. He's not just fast. He has amazing hands and agility. This guy is for real:

We just won the offseason. Thank goodness Wrecks Ryan retired.

And since injuries to those two guys have derailed seasons in two of the last four years, the move is a solid one. Especially when you don't have to give up your RFA CB in the process.

Brees taking shots at him

Saints just wanted him gone, don't think there is a future trade for Butler worked out

So you think he won't be traded?

It's still hard to believe that we have no first or second round draft picks. I think we can use some depth at DE, LB, OL and corner.

giving an aging QB a great weapon is a smart move.
