The lack of news is Jimmy G is deafening

Schefter's most recent comments make me think there really is no chance we trade him this year. Could be Pats value having him on the roster for at least 1 more year no matter what, for the simple reason that you never know what could happen.
The only problem is that's crazy.

Well not really, we have no idea what BB is thinking or how much value he perceives Jimmy having. I'm in the "trade him now while the value is high" group here.. but it seems as though they really don't want to.

I doubt even the Patriots know how much longer Brady plans on playing - he may not even know. But if the Pats are going for a 3peat in 2018, the idea that they would move on from Brady is simply insane.

No, I'm saying it's crazy not to trade him if only keeping him one more year.

I'm going to defer to Belichick if a trade does not happen. He knows what he's doing.

I can't tell you what BB's price point is, but I can say to the Browns - with a reasonable degree of certainty - that the value the Cowboys received in the 1989 Hershel Walker trade nets the Browns Jimmy G. :)

So pats have no picks in the first 3 rounds now....hmmm

I think its pretty much 100% bill is going to trade jimmy to the browns for a treasure trove of picks

They have Carolina's 3rd.

Well they have (2) 3rd round picks both top 100 and this draft is one of the deepest drafts in years. But Belichick doesn't play mock draft with draft picks, he's added Brandin Cooks, Dwayne Allen and Kony Ealy all guys that have shown they can be productive in the league.

What happened to the 2nd rounder we got for chandler jones?

Jimmy G. for a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd...all day and it makes sense for both teams. BTW I'm one that think Jimmy G. is a star in this league.

Either something is in the works or Bill went to the combine and was not impressed with what he saw from this class.

"An NFL source familiar with all the principals involved speculated the Browns “would make another run” at Garoppolo at the league meetings. There, Patriots owner Robert Kraft and coach Bill Belichick could interact in person -- rather than via telephone -- with Browns owner Jimmy Haslam and chief deal-maker Sashi Brown, the club’s executive vice president of football operations"

"The seeds of trades often are sown in the fertile grounds of the league meetings. If a trade is still viable -- even the optimists believe it is a long shot -- the source said it’s possible it may not be consummated until closer to the April 27 draft.

While the Garoppolo issue is in a holding pattern, he remains on top of the ESPN Cleveland Browns Quarterback Tracker."

Hey Cleveland, if you are not willing to give up two high 1st round picks don't even bother.

My impression is that Belichick tried to set a price point so high the message would be ''no, you can't have him''-- you know, a way of refusing without actually saying no. Or possibly asking 10 to get 1. Only to underestimate just how desperate the Browns are for a quarterback they can build around.

So the Browns asked for Bill's price and he quoted them something ridiculous and, Lo and behold, instead of hanging up

I think that's why we keep seeing the rumored price go up -- Bill keeps exploring the extent of what he can get away with and the Browns keep bidding against themselves.

12 overall, the 2nd they got from Houston and 2018 first round pick.
