Yes. I wish I could get as excited about this trade as everyone else seems to be. This team needs shoring up on defense; I'd feel a lot better if Hightower and Butler were confirmed back. With two good tight ends and an already capable WR corps, this is a lot to pay for another WR. Cooks might be "elite" but he's not a need. This team NEEDS linebackers and a running back. I'd like to know what BB has been smoking these last couple days.

2. WR1 - Brandin Cooks
3. WR2 - Julian Edelman

6. TE2 - Dwayne Allen
7. WR5 - Amendola/Floyd

Just on page one with 7 pages to go. Initially I think we paid too much for someone who isn't a true #1 WR and likely a one year rental in a year we need defensive rookies.

That being said I am SOOOOOOOOO relieved Malcolm Butler isn't part of this deal, I almost don't care about the lost picks, though I probably will by the time I get caught up with this thread.

There is no doubt in my mind that there is a trade in the works for Garoppolo. Belichick is not going to go into the draft picking first at #72.

I completely forgot about Dwayne Allen. If Gronk stays healthy, this could mean a legit 50 TDs for Brady.

I'm stoked that we didn't trade Butler. If they don't move him and sign Hightower, you might as well just hand the Pats the Lombardi now. Apparently BB liked what he saw out of the offense last season with a legit threat to take the top off the defense. This offense is going to be absolutely explosive.
