Sorry to see him leave the Pats, but very happy for him, by all accounts an excellent teammate, hard worker, and very professional person.
This is a good story in one way for us Pats fans. We've seen the team expend so much draft capital over the years on the cornerback position with disappointing results. i suspect I was not alone when they drafted him when I thought we'd more likely be seeing another Wheatley, Wilhite, or (Darius) Butler. Instead, they got solid if not spectacular results. This portends well going forward, I think. History indicates to me that the Pats will always be in the market for young corners. Considering what we saw with Ryan and Malcom Butler gives me confidence that they may have honed in a lot better now on who to acquire and how to coach the position. If this is an indication of the rise of a certain young coach with great bloodlines, then that would be quite a nice story for the Pats. Now get to work on Rowe and Cyrus Jones!
