Pats not trading Garoppolo - Schefter

I don't understand why the browns wouldn't give up another first rounder in 2018. We asking for two first round picks. They have to chance to get garrett and jimmy and still have multiple picks in the second round to go with a ton of cap space.

We can know this much. Bill will not blink. If he wants to 1st's for JG that's what he will hold out for.

I'd be happy with #12 and one future 2nd round pick in 2018.

.. a conditional 2018 2nd that becomes 1st if JG & CLE do well.
If Brissett is not a serious option to take over they can dip in quality 2018 QB class

all that said I am still comfortably parked in the “he stays“ lot
(also not sure he'd push for the Browns job as much as he Bears..)

JG is a risk. He's played 5 quarters. I think he's a good QB and has value, but if you are the Browns, maybe not. You are only guaranteed to get JG for one year. If he leaves or, over the course of 16 games, is not as impressive as expected, you now have traded two firsts for a later 3 and a year of JG. Not much of a deal for a rebuilding team.

If the Browns draft a QB, they get him for 5 years, a lot more time to develop with their rebuilding team.

None of these QBs are better than jimmy period. I think he can be a franchise QB. If i knew that brady would retire after next season than i would keep him.

FWIW - possibly another door closing on JG trade.. (or another opening..)

It would mean an opening in a Washington, and few teams are more willing to move high picks than the redskins. I don't believe they think they can win with McCoy.

More likely not because romo might be looking at the donkeys or texans. I still find it hard to believe that the cowgirls would trade him to the redskins

If they don't wanna give us another future first rounder then i might take their second and 3rd round pick in this draft. Pats can load up with some players.

nope........I would consider even asking more

look at the case of the oakland raiders........without carr, they could not fight their way out of a wet paper bag

JG instantly makes any team a playoff contender.......there is no one or 2 draft picks that will do that

my first gut is to still keep him........lafe without brady will be much longer than life with him and at 40, you have to be ready to replace.....murphy's law says at this point, Brady's skills will diminish the moment you get rid of garoppolo....just the way the world works

Exactly. Hold tight and await a Godfather type offer.

My prediction is that the teams that are interested are too foolish to pull the trigger.

Philly is smart, they did what it took to get a difference maker at the QB position. Most will just settle.

You have no way of saying that as a definitive. If Brady was coming out of the draft this year (assuming people thought the same about him as they did in the 1999 draft), you would argue that there is no way Brady is better than Garoppolo and it was ludicrous to even suggest that. If you said the best QB to come out of last year's draft was going to be Dak Prescott, you would laugh at that too.

All the draft prospects and Garoppolo are right now are QBs with potential. We have no real idea what any of them will turn into as full time starters.

This could be a good thing for the Pats. Daniel Snyder who notoriously loves to overpay in trade of high draft picks for established veterans and need of a starting QB? Snyder to drive up the asking price.

Just my opinion. This QB class stinks. Nobody's in love with these guys. I really like jimmy from the short time he played. I hope we get a good package

We have seen QBs classes that people thought were going to be great tank and ones where they thought the QB class sucked and there were some good QBs coming out of it. Garoppolo is the safer bet, but he is no sure thing.

Because most GM's are like fans and thus attached to draft picks and dreams to draft a franchise QB, not investors who know they have to take risks in order to build a winning team. So they keep drafting and drafting and drafting and never build a team.

To be honest though, I don't think the Browns will ever be a winning franchise, even if they do everything right, nothing works there, they are cursed, if they move that franchise things may start to go well. They can't even put a decent uniform, that **** uniform and helmets they wear looks exactly like a poop.

I don't have a problem with the format overall I have a problem with the same teams never getting better and getting rewarded for it Year in and year out,

Ivan, delete your posts ASAP! If the NYJFL front office reads this they'll have the "competition committee" decide that the winner of the SB gets NO 1st round pick. I could see this happening.

Nothing wrong with you having this opinion...

Doesn't matter. Let's say you're right (and you might be). He goes to the Browns for one year and plays well but doesn't love it. Brady begins to decline and BB matches whatever the Browns offer. Where do you think JG will go? NE - you can bank on it. That leaves the Pats with two 1s and JG. The Browns get a late 3 and a peck on the cheek.

There are a dozen scenarios like this.

Don't the Browns get a 1st from us in that scenario?
