Potential FA Values

How will Bill keep these guys happy? Fortunately money is not the prime motivating factor for a lot of these guys
If this is the market HT will surely get 16-17M/year and I doubt patriots match that.
No way Hightower gets that kind of money. That kind of money is reserved to sideline to sideline athletic LB freaks like Kuechly and Wagner. If a team spends that kind of money on Hightower, they will be disappointed, because he is not that kind of player.

Hightower will have greatest value to a team that schemes its LBs to play a versatile set of roles. He is an average coverage LB and would be a waste for team that runs a 4 - 3 or Tampa 2. He would be wasted as a run thumper in less exotic versions of the 3 - 4. I see a limited market.

My guess, Tennessee makes a run at Hightower for Jamie Collins money.

Hes terrible
He cant catch the ball consistently my Eagles friends cant stand him.
The word from numerous Philly outlets is that Matthews is nothing more than a slot receiver. He's big but can't play on the outside

Disagree entirely. As in all cases the only thing that matters is the guarantee. After Romo he is the #1 target qb, all he costs is money- no picks.

That is not true - at all. He will cost them and their players a full season and might lead into replacement of GMs and coaches. It is a terrible, terrible idea to settle for someone who won't take you anywhere just because he is cheaper.

It's an awful idea and the reason why mediocre teams will stay there..

our starting OGs have a combined cap hit of 1.5M for the next 2 (mason) 3 (thuney) years......they will both get to the same range as zeitler/lang.......need to think about that

Wouldn't resigning Floyd be the best value for us? Despite the 4 game suspension he would be good to keep. I wouldn't mind Terrence Williams but not sure if he is overpriced.

The Seahawks will not be tendering a restricted free agency offer to CB DeShawn Shead or LB Brock Coyle, according to a league source. Both players will become unrestricted free agents this week, free to sign wherever they want. Shead started 15 games at cornerback last year and played at a high level. But he is coming off of an ACL injury suffered in the divisional round of the playoffs, and his status for the start of the 2017 season is in question. Coyle has played in 35 games (five starts) with the Seahawks the last three seasons, serving primarily a backup role at middle linebacker. He has also been a key special-teams contributor.

Shead is legit. He probably won't be ready for the season and need PUP but he's a good complete CB.

Would be very interested in Shead.

and what good does taking and paying in picks for a qb that doesn't work out? and if you talent evaluators tell you to that is the way to go, and they are wrong they shoud be fired.

I just want to know whose dumb idea it was to sign Brock Osweiler to that contract. Absolutely freaking stupid. Brock is a horrible quarterback. He can't read a defense properly and know where to go with the ball.
And yet…2015 happened.

All I know is I watched that Texans Patriots playoff game and I can't comprehend the stupid that Osweiler did in that game. The one that I keep remembering is when the Texans O were backed up inside their own 20 and Osweiler threw a dangerous throw that Ninkovich broked up. In that same direction he's looking at the Pats D passed Will Fuller off to the deep safety on that play. The deep Safety was Patrick Chung!!!!!!

That's a freaking touchdown right there and at the very least a 40 yard play if Chung somehow manages to tackle the Speedy Will Fuller. I just can't handle that kind of stupid. You got a freaking touchdown there. But that idiot Osweiler can't find the matchup on the field.

As I said, Mike glennon would get big money. A lot of people around the league believe he's good. He actually played okay on a bad team with bad coaching. I like glennon. I think he's good.

He is the consolation price for any front-office too scared to use picks on Jimmy.

What 4 game suspension?

No on Terrence Williams.. Guy disappears way too much..

Not sure if we have a dedicated FA thread yet so I am posting it here..

I agree with that one. Is he unproven and going to get overpaid, yes absolutely. it's a case of what they think he will do, not what he's done

Oh I agree he sucks, no doubt. That's why I'm still very pissed-off that we lost to that bum in Denver on Thanksgiving Sunday night. Thanks Chris Harper (and others).
