Saints fan here. If Cooks goes to the Patriots, I would definitely be less upset about losing his talent. If true, he and Brady would make a nice combo. He has wanted out of NO for a while now if you go by his tweets (not getting the ball enough). We have Michael Thomas as a clear cut #1 receiver when Cooks goes so hopefully we spend whatever picks we get on the defensive side of the ball because we need it terribly. Would love to have Hightower in black and gold, that's for sure.

Patriots traded Collins/Jones cause they didn't want to pay them big money, haven't signed Hightower or Butler yet cause they're expensive but they'll spend a 1st round pick and like $14m+ a year in 12 months on Cooks? Yeah right.

This move is as anti-Patriots as a gets, spend a 1st round pick on a guy who's also needing paid huge money at a position where you don't seem to value paying guys big money.

He was drafted in the 1st which means there is a 5th year option. So it would be 2 years as they would pick up the option.

How do you know we wouldn't pay him? Cap's going up and jules's getting up there in age.
