Does BB hint he is open to trade Brady?

Guys if Belichick says nobody is untradeable does that mean....

HE IS WILLIING TO TRADE HIMSELF?!?!?!

CHESSKERS!

and cows fly too.

No. Brady isn't going anywhere.
Agree.

Pats are gonna ride this horse and that's it.

Even as age really starts to kick in around mid-forties, Tom has the ability to adjust, use his mental strength and experience - the way other local athletes, like Grogan and Brad Park, for example, were able to - to win games through management, intelligence and guile, relying less on firing the ball 100 mph.

I'm thinking Groza, Blanda, Howe, even Vinatieri...

Was Tom firing the ball all over the place in '01? No.

Did we go all the way? Yes.

This train got a long way to go yet.

You guys are all forgetting one thing. Tom has talked to BB and BK about how long he wants to play. They all know when that is, he'll be here until that predetermined date.
Not if he can't play.

....and BB took what Tom said and told him he'll take it under consideration after he had decided he no longer wants him as QB of the NEP.

If you are implying TB has more power in the organization than BB you are wrong.

If that ever happened RK would have a ****tail napkin from BB which says "I quit as HC of the NEP"

Not if Belichick determines his performance has eroded to the point that a change is better for the team.

Bill is stone cold ruthless when it comes to that.

if BB does not trade Garopolo, then maybe he is hinting that he is willing to listen offers on Brady?
Brady may have 4 years left, but Garopolo may have 14 years left.
I always trade a QB who just won the SB MVP and was second in the MVP for the season in the following offseason and keep his backup who played 5 1/2 quarters of football before going down with an injury.

I get the thinking too, there is precedent I mean that is just like the time the 49ers traded Montana after he missed most of the previous 2 seasons with a back injury.

Belichick might be able to release 52 players on the team without talking to Kraft but if you think Kraft would let Belichick cut Brady you're off your rocker. We are not talking about Richard Seymour or Vince Wilfork, Brady's legacy will live forever and that matters to the history of this franchise.

Then I guess Kraft will be in effect firing Belichick, because the moment Kraft blocks BB from making a move BB believes is best for the team, BB is gone.

Brady may have 4 years left, but Garopolo may have 14 years left.

I know everyone on these forums are going to kill you for asking the question but its possible. Only reason is because he is 40.

Most likely Brady has 2 years left of MVP play
Optimistically he has 3 years left of MVP play
Borderline incredible he has 4 years left of MVP play

Now the question is what happens to Brady when he falls off a little?

If Brady loses accuracy and velocity.. all those short to intermediate routes.. the bread and butter of his game, could derail him from MVP to inconsistent and frustrating QB play to watch. Its just a matter of when it happens. And who wants to gamble with father time?

With all that said I hope Brady retires a Patriot and wins #6.

Is this Ordway?

I seriously disagree with this. You can't science decline to that fine a point. He hasn't found the cliff yet, and it may be awhile, mediot desperation for a new narrative aside, but the cliff IS out there. And Tom Brady is not going to walk away from this game until he's left with no choice but to do so, as long as he physically can play NFL football, I think his attitude and personality are going to force him to try and continue -- but that decision may be made for him by time, his body, or his bosses before anyone's ready for him to go

IF Belichick makes the call that it's the right decision for the franchise, I have no doubt that he is capable of pulling the plug on TB12 while Brady has a year or two left in the tank. Whether that's a possibility this offseason actually depends on things we simply can not know at this time, especially from outside the org. And when a poster jumps the gun in light of the fact that we have a very solid-looking young QB that we're about to trade, attacking them as a means of whistling past the graveyard doesn't actually mean you've avoided the problem in any way.

Conclusion: I consider the thread premise highly unlikely, but not so unlikely that this level of vitriol against the OP is warranted. We ARE on the backside of Tom's career. A nonzero chance that he's done partway through THIS YEAR exists. That means that this needs to be fair game for discussion, guys. It's not yet time to move on, but a time will come, and it may come before we want it to, that the trigger needs to be pulled on a new era in New England. Verbally assaulting people who are anticipating the transition doesn't magically make TB12 25 again.

In the abstract, who knows. Given the current contract situation, which would result in a $14mil dead money hit if Brady was traded, no way. Absent Brady getting a career-ending injury or unexpectedly deciding to hang it up between now and the end of next season, JG is gone. The post-Brady NE QB will either be Brissett or someone yet to be drafted/signed.

The cap hit is not the issue, any time you increase you cap room by 8 mill, it is not that much of an impact. They trade Brady they have 8 more mill of cap room this year.

Brady being the best qb in the NFL is the issue.

Regarding the cap hit- I can think of more useful things to do with the roster with the cap increase than eating Brady's dead money. Thry would also be losing the team friendly contract along with eating the dead money.

The guy who won Super Bowl MVP and shattered a bunch of records doing so is not being traded. Period.

Belichick has made shock trades before but this will not be one of them. No way.

There is zero upside to such a deal unless you want him off the roster and I can't think of a compelling reason why any Pats fan would want that.

He isn't going anywhere.

So what you are saying is that Belichick expects his players to respect chain of command and his decisions but he does not show that same respect for his boss?
