Race is irrelevant
I say we focus on OL, Pass Rush, LB or CB early in the draft. Some pretty good (especially in our system) RBs will be there in the later rounds. Guys like Joe Mixon, Alvin Kamara, James Connor, Donta Foreman, etc..
to whom then?Not to everyone...
I will admit I feel very "Colts-like" to suddenly want this guy so much in the first round. They always draft some small shiny offensive player when the Pats do the right thing and Draft some beast on the D or O line or somethng. Not first round, but the Pats did draft Shane Vereen in the second round. That's plenty high enough, and Mccaffrey is the much better prospect.
>> Why a thread just for him? Has he said something about wanting to play for the Pats? Did someone from the Pats say something about him? I'm missing the history/connection.I don't understand the fascination with this guy. There are a dozen highly skilled, athletic offensive skill position players who will be drafted in the first two rounds. Why a thread just for him? Has he said something about wanting to play for the Pats? Did someone from the Pats say something about him? I'm missing the history/connection.
Oh, I don't know...perhaps some poster(s) here? Not you...to whom then?

It's funny that you are actually criticizing the existence of this thread first of all. LOL
But the reason I opened the thread is because I read a couple mock drafts that had him at 32 with the Pats, so I started looking at his video. The only other mocks I saw us not take him, he was drafted higher in the first round. So he is highly valued. And yes, after the little I have seen now I think Belichick/McDaniels and Brady would turn this kid into a Super Star. He would NOT just be classic running back in out system. He would equatable to Gronk in terms of the kinds of mismatches he would end up getting with all the other weapons on the field with him.
EDIT: I now think if he is there at 32 the Pats take him.
They all look good in their videos. The video here is the first time I've ever seen him. The kid looked good. He has the same skills as Edelman, a very keen sense for the open spaces and the speed to get there.
I would like another pass rusher. I wouldn't mind watt's brother t.j watt. Focus on OL as well.

The race-based comparisons are silly. To me he is Darren Sproles: dynamic on every down. A football-first guy, too, it seems. I don't expect us to pick an offensive player at #32, but if we did and it was him, I'd be pretty excited.
He won't even be there at 32. You can take that to the bank. If he's there at 32, it would be a steal for the Pats. By his 3rd year, he will be one of the best backs in the league. No at 32, maybe at 64.....
Hes a terrific, dynamic player. In my opinion, he's not a #1, particularly for NE.They do, but Mccaffrey the real deal.
Go take a look at the 2016 Rose Bowl. He single handily dominated a very good Iowa team. He should have been the Heisman winner that year.
He is a definite at 32, if he is still available. Pats will take him there. No at 32, maybe at 64.....
Most Mock drafts are putting in first round around 20 or s0. All the others have him with Pats at 32.Hes a terrific, dynamic player. In my opinion, he's not a #1, particularly for NE.
