Tony Romo leads NFL quarterback market this offseason | The MMQB with Peter King

I read this guy's column every Monday, and almost never fail to get irritated. Yet I keep going back. WTH is wrong with me? Anyway...

1. First, he sees Romo and the Texans as a good match. "Smart people need to get this done." Screw THAT.

2. Can this guy (and all other sportswriters, please) shut the friggin' piehole when it comes to politics? Makes me wanna...

Ah... I feel better now. :D Rant over.

i used to read every week for about a year maybe 3 yrs ago?

i learned faster than u it seems...dont give up youll get there

Has anyone come up with this as a possibility as a trade package for Jimmy G?

3-2-1.

A 3rd round pick for 2017
A 2nd round pick for 2018
A 1st round pick for 2019

Think about it------ unless Brady gets hurt, he has 3 good years ahead.

Why not stack the team and then, if Brissett hasn't earned the full confidence of the Pats coaching staff and his next contract after the 2018 season, the Pats can go 1st round pick for QB in 2019.

The timing would be right.

Because a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
They could always trade the first rounder out if they wanted to...but only if they had it.

Yes, but the TRADING PARTNER team thinks that also. This way, the Pats can get more out of the trade to begin with.

This is a deep draft (according to all the folks who analyze things like that). An early 3rd this year may be actually worth a 2nd in a normal draft.

Best of all worlds. 3-2-1. And cap-wise/position-wise for the Patriots, the TIMING for a 1st round QB may be optimal in 2019.

I read Peter King regularly for a very long time. I would ask my self all the time why I kept reading him. Then I saw a thread on Sons of Sam Horn titled "Why do I continue to read Peter King?". That so cracked me up, still does. It's such a perfect title.

Don't count on it any time soon. They all think they are something special who need to endow us with their "enlightenment".

How Sportswriting Became a Liberal Profession

Everyone and everything is expected to be "socially aware" now - businesses, media etc. It is all so false. People will text such and such a number to contribute $10 and make themselves feel special - but try and get them to volunteer an hour of their time.

as soon as he started getting preachy and policitcal i checked out.

Don Bank's however was always a stellar read after a weekend of football.

Is Banks still available on patriots.com or has he moved on?

I take your point.
In BB I trust.

So I read King every week he is a good football writer IMO. Don't agree with him politically, but I just stop reading when he gets hysterical. It is his popcorn stand so he can write about whatever he wants, NBD IMO.

Not sure why the first point would bug you, but agree about the politics thing.

I used to read him years ago...I think I just wasn't as aware of all the good stuff out there to read? So it was sort of a lingering, well, it's SI, that used to be something, and it's football...

Then I realized that I was getting absolutely nothing from reading it. Kind of a relief, really.

Problem with a structure like that is if JG is the real deal, the draft picks' value gets increasingly worse.

Let's just get a pile of 'em now. BB knows how to play that. And if nobody wants to give 'em up, we keep JG. Easy.
