NFL changes logo for 2008

It's a very minor change so I can't imagine getting worked up over it, but I like it. The shade of blue is darker, too, making for better contrast with the white. Now if they would just un-redesign those officials' uniforms.

The new design has eight stars -- one for each of the NFL divisions. We also like the 3-D feel of the football, in contrast to the 2-D version on the current logo, which has always reminded us of the foam cut-out with the slits in each end that came with the old Tudor electric football game.
Never mind the football on the Jets' helmets.

I like the new logo.

"VERAH NAIIIEECE!"

I guess the new logo makes sense from this perspective - 8 stars for 8 divisions makes sense. What does 25 stars represent anyways? There are 50 states in the US. Also the darker blue makes the logo contrast better. The font and football position are marginal design tweaks. Besides, I would guess it is easier to stitch just 8 stars on merchandise rather than 25 stars.
