Patriots are just the superior team on paper

Good thing the Superbowl doesn't play on paper.if the pats do not show up, they will get blown out.

Because up until the same point at that season (the same place we are now) those were the facts.

Not really.

07 team was not playing the same way they were in early Dec.

Game is in the bag, paper bag..

Just saw Curran / Giardi tweet suggesting Rowe could get Jones. Seems to match up pretty well with how you described his skill set. Let Rowe cover underneath with safety cap.

I think they will try all sorts of coverages on him and giving him different looks throughout the game.

If BB and Patricia don't have at least a Plan A, Plan B and Plan C for coverage assignments on Julio down by the schoolyard and others they're over rated. You try to figure out unanticipated matchups and like good engineers, see if they work and if not, try another hypothethis.

If that occurs, it may work out as it seems you can get away with a lot more grabbing and pulling in the SB than in other games. Rowe is a hands on guy, like Browner and Browner only had 1 holding call in the Super Bowl.

On paper is irrelevant.

No, but the posters point is that going into the 2007 SB, we were confident because on paper, the Giants looked more like Midgets and we know how that turned out. The same is true of the 2001 Pats and Rams. This year, the Falcons on paper look even better than the 2007 Giants or the 2001 Pats. I think that was the point, the stats don't mean squat anymore. This is a winner take all death match.

I ALWAYS think of the 2007 Pats when people post stuff like the OP did. What's on paper doesn't mean ****, it's what you do on the field. It doesn't matter if the Pats are better and went 14-2 and the Falcons went 11-5, if you don't play well, you go home the loser.

Reading the Steelers board, they claim their team should have won because they are the better team. They have better players talent wise (according to them). They even came up with that their overall units are Even or better than the Pat's (for example, we are better at QB, they are better at RB). Yet the Pat's kicked their ass. Stats don't matter, talk doesn't matter.

I hope the Pat's win by more than 10, it would be so much better on my old heart if the Pats win this game by as much as the last 2 playoff games. But I don't see it, all 6 Brady/Belichick teams have won or lost by 3 or 4 points. I can see another 3-4 point differential happening again. I'd be thrilled if the OP was right though.

Pat's are 1 in defense and 3rd on offense. Falcons are 1 in offense and 27th on defense.

For starters, when has a team with a defense that weak won the Superbowl. Never.

Pats would have gone 15-1 with Brady. This Falcons team struggled to put up 15 points against the mediocre Eagles, so that can be done.
Given the added experience the Pats have they will win convincingly

Football is played on the field.

Are you giving me the "Any Given Sunday" routine? I invented the "Any Given Sunday" routine.....

Of course stats fly out the window on gameday but going into this game, regardless of stats the Pats are the better all-around team.
