Felger: 2016 Patriots not an "all-time Pats team", just winning during a "bad year for league"

Welp, looks like that'll be the new talking point for the next two weeks. Once Felger says it other guys start adding on as well.

He says this team doesn't have a single impressive win this season, that the only good team they played (Seahawks) beat them and that every other team sucks (including the Steelers and soon to be the Falcons)

Says this is not even one of the greatest Patriots team of all-time and they just happened to be the best out of a "pile of crap" in the NFL this year, going an entire 19 game schedule without actually having an impressive win. Went a good 2 hours on this one talking point.

Yawn...Unique viewpoint. Hadn't heard that one before...

How the hell can you listen to that crap for two hours?!? Sigh...

Typical trolling.

I agree with him on this team not being the GoAT. 04 gets that one.

Better still, why would you even listen to any of this crap at all...

Never listen to Felger, his vitriol is nauseating and he believes in the Borges Mantra, "Any publicity is good publicity, keep stirring up ****."

They also agreed with a caller who said Chung, one of the best tacklers on the team, can't tackle; Dion Lewis, the only guy who has ever scored three touchdowns in each phase of the game in a playoff game, hasn't done squat (I'm guessing because he wasn't prominently featured in the AFCCG); and how the team that ranked 4th against the run can't stop the run game. Felger felt they were "all good points." I turned it off shortly after that. I had stopped listening, but my thirst for SB coverage is insatiable. I'm an addict and I know it.

Please, no. In fact, please let's not talk about this dbag on this forum. Felger is a contrarian. His job is to stir up emotions. If he says it, it's #FAKENEWS.

That's the MO of that show. Find something to troll about and then continue trolling about it day after day after day

Two year ago Felgy and his appendage started complaining how bad the Pats screwed up by not signing Revis. After 30 minutes of it I turned it off. The next day I turned on the radio, they were still *****ing about it, so I turned it iff. The NEXT day I turned on the radio and, you guessed it, they were still talking about it.

I swear I haven't listened their show since then. That's their shtick, and it's old

Sports/Media "journalism" and "analysis" is at an all time low point in general. Best just to tune out of all of it... It's all garbage.

Sad but true. Very few media members produce insightful, well written articles anymore. Most just try to take the easy, lazy route: getting clicks by trolling

I know what you mean. They went on for about five consecutive shows about how many passes LaFell dropped in his first game back since the SB in 2015. To be fair, LaFell wasn't very good thereafter but that's not the point.

This is going to be how analysts and other fans discredit this team if they win. Of course, if Atlanta wins, all that goes out the window and it was an impressive Cinderella story.

Frankly, I could not give a ****.

Winning the Super Bowl > not winning the Super Bowl.

100% this. Is there really anyone here that cares where this team ranks in terms of past Patriots teams ? What's the point ?

We had better teams that missed the Superbowl and worse teams that made it there. And yet I kinda like each of the past teams for unique reasons. Hell, the 2013 team was overall pretty bad but the mental toughness they showed throughout the year (Saints win, Broncos win, Browns win) makes it unforgettable for me.

And the greatest upset of all time.

I gave this some thought and well kinda true, our team is great but the AFC was pretty bad compared to recent years. I think this is a better description of the 2011 team that I think many felt was not a great team. This team has great offense and defense.
