Season Ticket Holder SB Lottery

My information is not particularly useful, but it is reality. The Krafts give most of the team's SB tickets to club seat holders (who are guaranteed a chance to purchase tix) and their friends. Probably 10 regular folks get tickets. We have never won the lottery and have been season ticket holders since 1993.
Same here, I've had two season tickets since 1994 and zippo in the "lottery" each time.

The portal where you plug in your account number and zip code seems suspicious to me. After submitting my info and getting the bad news once again, I tried fake numbers and the SAME message came up -- not "invalid submission" or, "this account number not on file." Then I left it blank, hit send and again -- same message stating you didn't win. WTF? I'm starting to wonder if there really IS a lottery or they just put that thing up as window dressing.

Somebody told me quite a few years ago the Patriots put just 20 tickets in the Super Bowl STH lotteries. I wonder if it's even that many.

Is the super bowl worth going to? At least one in your lifetime? I'm debating whether to go this year....

A) It's worth going to if it won't affect your finances whatsoever. B) I've talked to people who went to SB 49. It's usually a corporate crowd. The activities before hand are more memorable. C) If I found SB lower level tickets on the street, you better believe I'd sell those for a hefty profit. Just became a licensed Stock Broker. 5-10 grand is a good head start.

Here is some more anecdotal evidence for you guys supporting the Kraft is a greedy little jerk theory. I've been a season ticket holder since 1993 and never been offered Super Bowl tickets. I know maybe a dozen or so guys who bought season tickets around the same time I did and none of them have ever been offered a ticket. In fact I can honestly say I don't know anyone who know's anyone who has ever been offered Super Bowl tickets by the Krafts.

Ace Ticket is the only one I know of who gets tickets from the team.

How do you know?

It's very easy to tell. Before the AFCG, ace ticket was selling super bowl tickets but promised your money back if the pats didn't make it. In other words, they are saying that if the pats lost they won't have any inventory from....yup, you guessed it, the pats.

It is my understanding that the 1000 or fewer tickets available to ST holders are distributed by a lottery system. The lottery is weighed based on how long ST holders have had their tickets and how many tickets they have. There is also some sort of multiplier effect as well, or so I was told. For example, for this year's SB....ST holder family since 1960 with 4 tickets vs ST holder since 1993 (when lots of new people hopped on board) with 2 tickets....

4 ST X 56 years = 224 ping pong balls
2 ST X 23 years = 46 ping pong balls

So you can see odds are WAY stacked against anyone who hasn't had ST for a LONG, LONG time...add to that the multiplier they use which gives even more weight to folks who've had a large # of ST for a long # years....

My buddy Mike who has four seats in Section 113 got two tickets for SB XLIX from the lottery, but I believe that was the first time the family had won the lottery since SB XX. To FCB02062's point they have had season tickets since Schaefer Stadium opened in 1971.

Absolutely. The problem is if they lose, the aftermath kind of sucks.
That's exactly right. I've been to two, both losses, and it SUCKED. I'd love to see them win in person but I'm terrified of seeing them lose like that again.

The pats just sent out an email offering WL (and I assume Season ticket holders) the opportunity to buy cheaper packages through NFL On Location. 5 grand for end zone seats but it includes a package of parties and stuff.

I went to Super Bowl 31 (Pats vs Packers in 97') and yes it really sucked when they lost but in a way a was really happy they played pretty well considering the previous Super Bowl in 86 they got stomped. Overall it was an awesome experience and I'll never forget it.

That now takes you to another wait list, apparently.

I've been to four Pats Super Bowls -- two wins and two losses. Talk about extreme high and extreme low: the two wins (vs. Panthers, Eagles) were incredible experiences, the two losses (both Giants games) I wished I'd never gone. It's a risky thing if you're a diehard fan, certainly worth it if they win.

Wow. That's a really nice gesture by the Krafts.

I have been a season ticket holder for 23 years. Never won. Right after we won Sunday I went into my account and put a Stein after my last name. I did not get tickets but got a job under Kraft .

Wow. That's a really nice gesture by the Krafts. These guys are classy.

I assume that was meant to be sarcastic?

Absolutely. I've only been to the first Giants Super Bowl and man talk about an extreme low for a sports fan.

We have had 7 chances and have never won the season ticket lottery for the SB. Has anybody ever won that doesn't sit in the red seats?

Arthur Blank is sending every employee to the SB. Guarantee greedy Kraft hasn't done this. Kraft is the same manner who wouldn't let a dying season ticket holders transfer his seats to son.

I have a friend who used to work for Krafts. That person ended up going to a couple of super bowls for free.
