Brady Isn't As Good In AFC Championship Games As You Think He Is

Thats what this board has become... a lot of chicken littles that post **** from **** media.
Actually what this board has become is a fanboypinkhatfest. Don't you dare offer up legitimate critique and criticism of anything Patriots or they throw a hissy fit.

I said in an earlier post this week that the only thing that scares me about this game is Tom Brady. He seemed very tight when talking to the media this week.
If we get the relaxed confident Brady, the guy who once fell asleep in the lockeroom before the SB we will win.
If we get the tight jittery Brady, the guy forcing terrible throws and taking safeties we will lose.

Do you view the gameday threads?

Please provide on-field examples of when Brady is tight and jittery as opposed to relaxed and confident.

I wouldn't say tight and jittery, but I think "confused and frustrated" is probably a better term. Last week was a good example because Houston did an impressive job of having guys in position in the throwing lanes for a high percentage of passes and it's probably one of the best executed defensive game plans we've seen in years against them. That left Brady having a tough time to decipher what they were doing and it was even more difficult with the amount of pressure they were getting up the middle. Tough to blame Brady entirely for that, and you have to just give credit to Houston because they did a great job.

But these are a little more isolated than people think given what he did against the Seahawks and in the second half against Indy that year, 4th QTR vs Denver last year, etc. because the difference is, good teams (and good quarterbacks) eventually figure it out and ultimately come out on top, and fortunately this team has a pretty good player who is able to do that.

He's no good, trade him while you can.

2009 vs BAL. 2010 vs NYJ, 2007 vs NYG are all examples of confused and/or frustrated. We can say for certainty that happens.

But to say Tom is "nervous and jittery" some games and not others cannot be proven.

Yeah, "nervous and jittery" isn't ever a thing with Brady.

However, I WILL say that the "Brady scowl" means the other team is proper ****ed.

I will be very, very surprised if Tom doesn't have an outstanding game today

I wouldn't describe Brady like that but not gunna nit pick. We know what you're saying.

SPOT ON about the pink hat homers.

The words "chicken little" are starting to become more meaningless by the day.

I'm sorry, forgive me for posting an article listing brady's numbers from AFC championship games. I thought some of you may find them interesting. Especially given how much some of you are into stats on here. I promise to never post anymore articles or stats about brady on here unless they show brady in a positive enough light sir. Ill turn a blind eye to everything else and pretend they don't exist.

This guy quoted Chris Chase, the ultimate Patriots hater who must have been dumped by USA Today, so he lost me the moment he mentioned him.

We have Bingo. Chase is on par with Doyel, Borges, and the other big time Patriot haters.

Wow its almost like you play better teams in these games.

Yes. Really dumb.

Let's look through some of the teams he played - Steelers, Ravens, Chargers, Broncos. Might those have represented the best defenses in the NFL (or close to it)? News flash - offensive statistics tend to show poorer against the best defenses. Find me the QB whose numbers consistently climb. That would be impressive.

We will follow this series up hopefully next week with the article

You're forgiven, my son. Three Our Fathers and six Hail Marys should do it...Oh, and there's this little box with a slot in the top in the vestibule on your way out. Dig deep, son, dig deep...

I don't disagree with what you're saying exactly. However, I find it funny how people want to look at the teams the pats played whenever the stats are bad, to put things into proper context...........but whenever the stats are great like when involving the patriots defense.............Then it doesn't matter. Just an observation.

I don't think it's necessarily all directed at you, and no one faults you for the link since you obviously didn't write it and it's O.K. to be nervous about those performances. I think it's a byproduct of the frustration of a lot of the talk over the past week or so where people didn't really put into context the fact that it's not just Brady, if you get that much pressure up the middle against any of the top quarterbacks, it's a problem for all of them. But that doesn't make for good radio/tv/clicks, etc. Instead, anti-Brady pieces do better and grab more headlines, and that's what annoys everyone.
