Hey guys
We've had the best team in the NFL since 2001 w/o question. We're always in the hunt for the SB and that's all anyone can ask. There have been countless memorable plays from our Pats over the past 15 years or so...give me your top 3 or top 5 (or top however many you'd like) Here are mine
1. Vinatieri's game-winning O.T. FG against Oakland in 2001 Divisional game-
When that kick went sailing through the uprights in the midst of a snowstorm, I started to really believe in the fairy tale season Earlier when Brady fumbled I turned the TV off and gave up on the game...but for some reason I turned it on 10 minutes later to see what else was on and we were going for the game-tying kick. Whaaaat? haha I'll never forget this one
2. Vinatieri's Super Bowl winning FG against the Rams- This is and always will be my favorite Super Bowl win. It was just a dream season. The last drive started the foundation for the greatest QB to ever play the game...Tom Brady. Also, Drew Bledsoe got a ring! Play for overtime eh John Madden?
3. The goal line stand against the Colts- I can't remember what year this was, '03 or '04, but I remember we stopped them 4 times inside the 5 yard line with no time on the clock to win. The image of Willie McGinest sprinting down the field in celebration is forever burned in my mind.
4. The Malcolm Butler Super Bowl INT- Other than Vinatieri's kicks I think this goes down as the most important play in team history. His quick read and goal line interception of Russell Wilson literally saved the game and season for our team and gave us our 4th Super Bowl. I went from saying "we had a good season" to jumping up and down and screaming like a little kid haha.
5. Rodney's pick 6 against Pittsburgh in AFC title game- This one iced it. I just remember Pitt being so hyped because of their rookie QB Ben Roethlisberger and that they were 15-1 in the regular season. The Pats came in there and took care of business with Harrison icing it with a pick 6 in the last few minutes.
Honorable mentions- Brady's game-winning TD pass to Kenbrell Thompkins against the Saints (Rob Ryan's facial expression was priceless), Ty Law absolutely hammering Marvin Harrison into the turf after an incomplete pass in the '03 AFC Championship, Welker's muffed punt with Denver in overtime, Pats recover and complete a monster comeback over Peyton and the Broncos, the Cundiff missed FG in the 2011 AFC title game, Mike Vrabel's TD catches in back to back Super Bowls.
Let's hear yours!
